Yellow Box Rice Company – Katipunan, Quezon City

Hello everyone! Work just keeps getting busier and busier by the minute and it keeps getting harder and harder to write some of our recent EATSperiences. Good thing, we had a bit of a spare time coming off a hectic weekend. A couple of weeks back, we were able to EATSperience an eatery outside of our usual go to dining hotspots. This eatery is located along Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City which is 13 kilometers away from where we stay to be exact. It was really far but we made it all the way there because we heard that the food there is really good. Our featured eatery for this EATSperience is the Yellow Box Rice Company. It is located just outside La Vista Village in Katipunan Avenue. Yellow Box Rice Company or YBRC for short is a small restaurant where diners can get a variety of bang for buck rice in a box meal. We can still remember how tasty and affordable rice in a box meals were back when we were still in college. That was like how many *secret* years ago! We had a really nostalgic feeling right when we stepped inside YBRC. Remembering the good old days when we survived long days mainly because it had heaps of rice and lots of flavor. Get your tummies ready Continue reading…

Makirrito by Tokyo Tokyo

Life has been so fast paced nowadays that it’s a luxury for us to take our time and enjoy what we are eating. Since we started working and living again in Manila, we have always been on-the-go. In a hurry to have something to eat especially with all the work that we have to do. Also, having something like a quick meal doesn’t always guarantee full and happy tummies. Sometimes taste is also sacrificed because of the quality of fast food available. Good thing, just this week we discovered something fast, flavorful, filling and affordable! The Makirrito by Tokyo Tokyo. For those who haven’t tried it yet, it is the a combination of Maki (sushi rolls) flavors and components with the portability of a Burrito thus, Makirrito! Sounds interesting so far? Continue reading…

The Great Eatscape: Tuan Tuan Chinese Brasserie, SM Aura

We are going down the wire with our Great Eatscape EATSperience in SM Aura Premier with ForkSpoonManila. So far, we have tasted three very different restaurants and now it’s time to share our EATSperience at Tuan Tuan Chinese Brasserie also in SM Aura’s 5th floor, also known as the Sky Park. Yes, finally, Chinese food! We are huge fans of Chinese food because its dishes may not look well-plated or may not have finesse but it’s definitely full of flavor. When it comes to food, nothing is more important than flavor, right? In Tuan Tuan though, good food is combined with a classy restaurant interior that would take you to a few decades back. Tra Vinh – Banawe, Quezon City

Since coming back to Manila almost three months ago, one of our main goals has been to EAT and EXPLORE around our hometown and appreciate eateries around Manila and beyond. And we have been on track so far. Slowly but surely, we are getting our tummies busy and are ready to take it one bite at a time. This edition of EATSplorations took us to Banawe in Quezon City.
