Dim Sum Nights at Shang Palace – Makati Shangri-La

Want some Dim Sum? To those of you who are not yet familiar with what dim sum is, here’s a bit of a background information about it: “Dim sum is a popularly known authentic Cantonese dish prepared as small bite-sized portions of food served in small steamer baskets or on small plates. It is also a tradition for the elderly to gather to eat dim sum after morning exercises.” Well, as you just read, it’s a tradition to have dim sum in the morning but for us and maybe for a great number of people, dim sum is for any meal of the day, right? Dim sum has always been one of our favorite in the Chinese cuisine. Its bite-sized treats of steamed, fried, or even baked never fail to please our craving for something tasty and filling. Waterside – Solaire Resort and Casino

Just last week, we were back at one of Manila’s best resort hotel and casino to try out one of their many in-house restaurants. Our last two visits to this hotel was pretty good that’s why we were extremely excited to visit for the third time. Spanish Cuisine at La Tienda – Makati

Since that memorable EATSperience of ours at the Spanish Food Festival at the Diamond Hotel, we have been looking around on where to try other authentic Spanish dishes. Also, we have been looking for that authentic Spanish tavern atmosphere to have a really complete EATSperience. Good for us, we didn’t have to look so far because just around Makati’s Bel-Air area there’s a Spanish restaurant that has been there for 30 years. Well, it’s safe to say that it has already been an institution for Spanish cuisine and yes, it took us a long long time to finally eat there for the first time. Cusina ni Lola by Chef Tatung – Pan Pacific Manila

Eating out almost every weekend has opened our eyes and taste buds to different kinds of cuisines and techniques. It has been great so far but every once in a while we look for something familiar, an EATSperience that’s closer to home, Filipino food. We, Filipinos, love to eat and we love to eat with family. Are we right? We are so used to having the whole family around during different gatherings and reunions. Catching up while enjoying recipes that are passed from one generation to another. [NEW DISHES] Canton Road – Shangri-La at the Fort

This EATSperience of ours is another first for EATSplorations. Yes, it’s our first time to ever set foot in Shangri-La at the Fort and also our first EATSperience at their Chinese fine-dining restaurant, Canton Road. In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing with you the new dishes that Canton Road will be launching for this month of April. Every 3-4 months, Canton Road takes a look at their menu to see which ones perform the best and which ones need to take a little break or have an improvement. There were a total of 16 dishes and 4 kinds of tea during this preview. As expected, we were stuffed to the brim after the day was over.
