There’s always a first time for everything and this EATSperience of ours was another first. First time to dine at Man Ho in Manila Marriott Hotel. Man Ho is the Chinese / Cantonese Restaurant of Manila Marriott Hotel. Therefore, this EATSperience is about delicious and familiar Chinese dishes that are truly close to our tummies. We were really excited about dining at Man Ho because we’ve heard a lot about how good the food is, how lovely the place is, and how awesome the service is. We’ll never know until we try, right? That’s why coming in, our expectations were really high not just because of all the good things people say about Man Ho but also because we really are big fans of Chinese food. Keep on reading to find out about our first-ever Chinese Feast at Man Ho in Manila Marriott!
Chinese Feast at Man Ho in Manila Marriott Hotel!
Located at the West Wing of Manila Marriott Hotel, Man Ho is the main in-house Chinese / Cantonese restaurant of the hotel where guests can enjoy a great overall dining EATSperience.
Once you enter the West Wing, Man Ho is on your left. You won’t miss its well-lit interior beaming from the inside and easily seen from the outside.
We instantly fell in love with how lovely the interior of Man Ho is. Huge glass panels illuminate natural light all over the main dining area which made our lunch more beautiful than expected.
You see what we mean? Oh, Man Ho! We haven’t reached the food yet but we’re already very happy! This place is just extremely beautiful. Bring your loved ones here, have a relaxing, tasty, and filling Chinese meal. Believe us, you will all love it! Aside from its huge main dining area, Man Ho also has private rooms for intimate gatherings. Make sure to ask them about it and make your celebrations more memorable!
Enough about the place, let’s move on to what this EATSperience is all about, Man Ho’s NEW MENU! The menu card has ten (10) dishes on it, including dessert. Good thing, we didn’t have breakfast that day because we need all the space that we can get for a meal of this magnitude. The new menu has stir-fried vegetables, pan-fried seafood and beef, pork dumplings, roasted duck, and many more. Well, it basically has everything we love about Chinese food and more. Are you ready for a Chinese feast at Man Ho? Here comes the food!
Wok Fried French Beans with Salted Egg Yolk (Php 380)
A winning dish right off the bat! We simply cannot resist a perfectly cooked French Bean dish more so a French Bean dish with Salted Egg Yolk! Crispy, juicy, sweet, and salty. All the flavors and textures that we love in one humble dish. Awesome start to our Man Ho EATSperience!
Slow Braised Australian Beef Shank in Palawan Honey(Php 480)
At first, we thought this was Charsiu, hehe! Nope, it wasn’t. It’s a plate of super tender and flavorful beef shank with local honey. No joke. The beef was really really tender. The meat was sweet and savory. A great dish through and through.
Wok Fried Pork Parcels with Szechuan Chili (Php 360)
Can’t go wrong with fried pork dumplings especially when it has a little bit of heat! As expected, we loved these pork parcels. It’s crispy, juicy, a little fatty, and spicy but not too spicy.
Shredded Chicken with Jellyfish (Php 980 for small / Php 1,600 for large)
This was one amazing dish! We all loved this because it was really refreshing. It has great crunchy and chewy ingredients. Also, the balance of sour, salty, and spicy flavors are there. This could pass like a noodle dish without any noodles, hehe! Super delicious!
Roasted Flambéed Peking Duck Served with Chinese Pancake (Php 3,288)
As if the Peking Duck is not that special yet, Man Ho made it even more special by flambéeing it with a 12-year-old Dalmore Whisky!
The duck was impeccable! The whisky was able to enhance the smoky and sweet flavors of the Peking Duck. At first, we thought it wouldn’t really make much of a difference, but it really did. Great job on this one, Man Ho! We really loved it!
Salt and Pepper Duck (2nd course of the Peking Duck)
Something new and different for a duck’s second course! We loved this one because it was such an EATSperience eating the meat off the bones. The dish was also perfectly seasoned. Not too salty, not too spicy, just right.
Double-boiled Abalone with Red Dates and Coconut Broth (Php 680)
Light, sweet, and refreshing! After all the savory dishes that went ahead of this lovely soup, it was indeed very pleasant to have something like this. We also loved how this was plated using a coconut shell. If you are looking for a soup dish that’s unique and delicious, try this one! You will surely love it.
Pan Fried US Beef Tenderloin in Black Pepper Sauce (Php 1,500)
After the palate cleansing soup, the meal went back to savory in no time! Not complaining though because this tenderloin dish got perfection written all over it. Perfectly cooked, super tender, and really really flavorful. We loved that the black pepper sauce was just right, not too hot but just really flavorful. This dish and a lot of rice can go a long way!
Stir-Fried Shrimps and Porcini Mushrooms and Broccoli (Php 1,280)
Man! The shrimps on this dish were plump, juicy and sweet! If you are not allergic to seafood, well this dish is indeed irresistible! Aside from falling in love with the shrimps, we also loved the earthy flavors coming from the porcini mushrooms. We found this dish not too heavy and refreshing.
Pan Fried Australian Barramundi in Black Bean Sauce (Php 980)
This one is another seafood dish that is a must-try. The Australian Barramundi was cooked perfectly. Tender and smooth fish drenched in the sweet and salty black bean sauce. This dish is all about freshness and more.
Sticky Glutinous Rice with Coconut (Php 198 for 3 pcs)
And to end our feast, a piece of sticky glutinous rice with coconut sealed the deal. Soft and chewy ball made from glutinous rice, filled with sweet bean paste and rolled in grated coconut. Just pop one whole piece in your mouth and you’ll surely be delighted!
Our first time at Man Ho is an EATSperience worth to remember. We’ve heard a lot of good things about this restaurant and it definitely did not disappoint. From the accommodating staff, ambiance and of course, the food, everything about Man Ho is pure awesomeness. This is a place suited for gatherings and special celebrations with family or with friends. Don’t forget to try out the dishes that we had in this EATSperience!
