Chocolate Decadence Cake by Joconde Cakes

We are huge fans of how Filipinos turn any cake and pastry into a work of culinary art. All around Manila alone, homemade cakes and pastries can be found for everyone to enjoy. In this edition of EATSplorations, we will share with you one of our prized finds from Christmas of 2015, the Chocolate Decadence Cake by Joconde Cakes and Pastries. We got their number right away, ordered, and the rest was history. Although Joconde Cakes and Pastries is known for their Chocolate Decadence Cake, they are also known for theirΒ Moist Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting, and Salted Egg Yema Cake. Brown Butter Pancake Sandwiches

Finally, October is over and now it’s time to usher in November! We were loaded with work last month and as a result, we have had some backlog on the blogging side of things. Not complaining though because thank God, we have been busy since coming back home. Last month, we received a box of goodies from Brown Butter Pancake Sandwiches. If you haven’t heard about them yet, Brown Butter makes pancake sandwiches inspired by the “Dorayaki” from Japan. The concept is a fusion of East and West as they combined the Japanese pancakes with more Western fillings or palaman in Filipino. The pancake sandwiches of Brown Butter are also very handy and easy to eat. Keep reading to find out more about Brown Butter’s different pancake sandwiches in this edition of EATSplorations! Oishi Great Lakes – Fruit Juice

A couple of weeks back, we received a beautiful package from our friends from Oishi. We were surprised at first because we know Oishi as a famous brand that makes all sorts of tasty chips we have grown to love. But juice? Hmmmm…. Yes, it did sound strange at first but, Oishi really does have a line of juices by the name Oishi Great Lakes. We received LOTS of grape and apple juice in both big and small packaging. LOTS—meaning good enough to share with our families and friends. With just the way it was packed, it got us really excited to try it out to see what makes it different from other local juice brands. What do you think will Oishi Great Lakes’ edge be? Continue reading…
