It’s been a long time since we last visited Quezon City for a food trip. If we are not mistaken, it’s been probably been around 2-3 months. Good thing, our baby had a doctor’s appointment for her shots, that meant that it was a good time for us to EATSperience something around the other side of town. Just this past Saturday after going to our pedia, we headed straight to SM North to have lunch at one of Manila’s most famous dimsum restaurants, King Chef Dimsum Kitchen. Our food-loving family met up with our friends Bettina of BettinaBacani.com, Richie of ThePickiestEater.net, and Princess of PhantasmDarkstar.com. In this edition of EATSplorations, we shot exclusively with our Huawei Nova 2i to try out its vibrant shots with food. You might be really hungry right now so without further ado, here’s our Chinese Food at King Chef Dimsum Kitchen in SM North EATSperience, enjoy!
King Chef Dimsum Kitchen at SM North
King Chef is located at the ground floor of SM North Edsa’s The Block. Perfect for casual dining, King Chef can surely cater to families and group of friends who are craving for Chinese food before or after shopping. Do not be deceived by thinking that they only have a small space, as the restaurant was designed to have an L-shaped interior. Therefore, be sure to ask the receptionist if they still have room in the inner most part of the restaurant.
The Huawei Nova 2i worked really well with our shots around the restaurant. It has given us great clear and colorful shots, all in super wide angle. What we enjoyed the most in using this gem of a smartphone is that it works almost like our camera but it’s super handy. Take a look at our quality food shots below for our complete Huawei Nova 2i experience.
What we EATSperienced at King Chef Dimsum Kitchen!

Php 100 regular price / Php 67 promo price (4pcs)
Tasty and flavorful broth enveloped in a silky smooth dumpling. When eating a Xiao Long Bao, we make sure that we bite a small piece of the wrapper on the top to avoid slurping the hot broth right away.

One of our favorites in this EATSperience! Perfectly fried savory dumplings. We loved the crispy light outside and soft and chewy sticky rice inside with a meat filling. Layers of texture and flavor in one bite.

Php 210
Comforting bowl of Beef Wanton Noodles. One serving of this is already good for sharing. The beef was tender and the beef broth was really hearty.

Php 170
Our baby enjoyed the White Chicken Rice so much! The juicy chicken was complemented well by the ginger sauce.

Php 180
A staple dish in every Chinese restaurant. Their Sweet and Sour Pork has a good balance of sweet and zesty flavors. The crunch from the red and green bell pepper added texture and bite to it.

Crispy fried prawns coated with salt and pepper. The vinegar dipping sauce managed to smoothen the flavors from the naturally sweet prawns, salt and pepper.

Another favorite of ours! Plump and juicy prawns tossed in a sweet and creamy dressing. A must-try dish when dining at King Chef!

Look at that Imperial Blossom! It was hard for us to take a bite from this carefully crafted dessert. It was as sweet as how it looks. The jelly and the coconut milk with sago balls were refreshing.
No wonder King Chef is always packed with diners, it is because they serve good food at an affordable price. Each an every server was super nice to us and our baby which made this EATsperience even more memorable and Baby EATS Friendly. It was another filling EATSperience with our foodie friends and memories made even more special by our Huawei Nova 2i. Watch out for more of our North side EATSperiences. That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations, ’till next time!
