Tsuta Ramen – BGC

We have been in love with Japanese food for quite a long time now and we were able to EATSperience a number of really good Japanese restaurants already. We would also catch ourselves craving for something Japanese most of the time. Sushi, Sashimi, Tempura, Kushiyaki, and so much more. Included in our list of Japanese food cravings is a hot bowl of ramen! All three of us, yes, Baby Eats included, love ramen. And we are always up for trying out new ramen places around the metro. Well, maybe it’s not just us who are into looking for new ramen places, most likely a lot of other Filipino diners too. Because Pinoys nowadays are into the ramen craze. In one of our recent EATSperiences, we tried out a Michelin-starred ramen restaurant that we found in Bonifacio High Street. So ramen-lovers and Japanese food enthusiasts (well, if you clicked our link, then you must be one! :D), join us as we share about our Tsuta Ramen-BGC EATSperience! Enjoy! Continue reading…

[NEW] Ping Pong Diplomacy – SM Aura

Ping Pong Diplomacy is one of the newest restaurants in town. It just opened last week at the 3rd level of SM Aura in BGC. Ping Pong Diplomacy is a modern take on Chinese cuisine with an American twist. This one of a kind restaurant is the brainchild of Charlie Paw, the man behind Lowbrow Casual Restaurants and Tasteless Food Group, and a group of young and talented chefs like Him Uy De Baron, Noel Mauricio, Miko Aspiras, and Kristine Lotilla. Before we proceed to the tasting part, let’s talk about where Ping Pong Diplomacy got its name. The phrase “Ping Pong Diplomacy” might sound very familiar to most of you who know a thing or two about the Cold War. It refers to the time when China and the United States tried to ease the tension between them through Ping Pong during the time of President Nixon. If you have seen Forrest Gump, you would know what we mean. Now that the story behind the name has been taken cared of, we can now EATSperience Ping Pong Diplomacy! Continue reading…

Don’t let the snobbish title of this EATSperience make you stop from reading. Before you jump into conclusions, allow us to explain. In this edition of EATSplorations, we tried out an unconventional ramen house called Wrong Ramen in BGC. Wrong Ramen has branded itself as “Manila’s Worst Ramen House.” Yes, we couldn’t believe it too, but it’s as clear as daylight how they described their restaurant in their very own website. Who would even try to attempt dining at a ramen house that’s called Manila’s worst, right? By now, you should have gotten the humor behind the title and maybe you can proceed reading to find out what makes this place unusually special. Join us, to find out how can something so wrong like Wrong Ramen taste so right. Continue reading…
