After sharing our previous EATSperiences in our mini food crawl at SM North Edsa, we are finally down to our third and final stop. After having Chinese food for lunch, Korean favorites for dessert, it’s finally time to EATSperience… Japanese EATS at Dohtonbori at SM North! We have been really looking forward to this EATSperience as we really love Japanese food. You know, ramen, sushi, sashimi, yakiniku, and many more. In this Japanese food EATSperience though, the highlight is—OKONOMIYAKI. If you want to know more about our Dohtonbori EATSperience, keep on reading because this EATSperience is something that you will surely love!
Dohtonbori at SM North EDSA!
As we made our way inside Dohtonbori, it instantly reminded us of one of our EATSperiences when we went to Japan a couple of years back. Everything looked really familiar and similar to what a typical restaurant in Japan looks like. They even have an area where diners can sit on a mat just like how most Japanese people are when eating at home. Dohtonbori has a casual feel that allowed us to just enjoy the food while chatting. We also loved that every table has a teppan grill that allowed us to see how our orders were cooked. But if diners want a more personal touch to their Okonomiyaki, Dohtonbori has an option to let their diners cook their own food. Fun right?!

Now let’s get it on with the food! We first had a bowl of Ajitama Ramen. Comforting and tasty broth with tender pork shoulder slices and soft boiled egg.

Php 260
Our little girl’s favorite! She had a cup full of this thinly sliced beef with a sweet soy based sauce. The rice was topped with the sauce that made us eat loads of it aside from the already well-seasoned beef.
Dohtonbori EATS cooked in front of us!

Time for some action! It was really a fun EATSperience seeing our food cooked right in front of us. Their Kalbi Yakiniku was cooked to a perfect crisp and had a texture like of a bacon.

Php 650
A melt-in-your-mouth Angus Striploin Steak made more flavorful by minced garlic. Since it was cooked in front of us, the aroma of the steak and the garlic was really inviting.

Here come the Okonomiyaki dishes! First kind was the Butatama Okonomiyaki. They call this their “simple pork okonomiyaki”. We liked the simplicity of it by having minimal ingredients and pork being the highlight of this dish.

Php 360
This by far, was one of the best Okonomiyaki dish that we have had. Thick, juicy and meaty hamburg steak topped with perfectly sizzled melted cheese. It was love at first bite! This is a must-try!

Php 260
This was interesting because this Okonomiyaki dish came with tiny spatulas. It’s meant to be eaten straight from the teppan grill. However, taste-wise, it needed a bit more seasoning.

We have ended our SM North Edsa mini food crawl with of course, a full tummy. We enjoyed dining at Dohtonbori and how the staff were accommodating of our requests. So, we highly recommend this for families and friends who want an interactive dining EATSperience. As for us, it was another food-filled and fun-filled EATSperience with our KTG family. That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations, ’till next time!
