The Broken Oven at The Gardens, Loyola Grand Villas

Ever since we came back home here in Manila in 2016, one of the things that we looked forward to was meeting new people through our blog. And during the early months of being in Manila, we met a guy who was very new to the food business. Starting of with food deliveries, to having a stall at Industrie, and now having his own place for The Broken Oven. Marco Olives, the home cook behind this amazing food brand has grown a lot in just 2 years time. We felt like we have journeyed with him because the growth of The Broken Oven is almost the same age as that of our little girl. Hello people of BGC! A new restaurant / bar is now officially open to satisfy all your lunch time and after work cravings. Say hello to Mimi & Bros at Crossroads, BGC! Mimi & Bros is one of the newest restaurants in BGC and it is home to some of the Metro’s tastiest Fried Chicken and Ribs paired with their endless list of alcoholic drinks. Before we go any further, why Mimi & Bros? Well, it’s because the restaurant was conceptualized literally by Mimi and her brothers. It was like a gift to Mimi, who is a hardworking CEO at the age of 25, from her brothers. They decided to put up the restaurant for Mimi because she wasn’t able to enjoy house parties (which they really had a lot of) since she was way younger than her siblings. The Corner Market Food Hall – The Podium

Manila, the battle of the food halls / food parks is not yet over. In the past couple of years, food halls / food parks have become a great part of how we dine as Filipinos. The usual food courts in malls have evolved into bigger and badder food venues with all sorts of different themes and vendors. There are around 20 food parks in Metro Manila alone and just recently, a new food hall just opened at The Podium. It houses 17 different food merchants that can cater to whatever cuisine or dish you are craving for.
