“You can’t be sad when you’re eating ice cream.” Agree? Well, if you do agree with the famous ice cream quote, then you will surely enjoy this recent EATSperience of ours. In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing with you about Elait Rolled Ice Cream and Yogurt at Century City Mall in Makati. Elait is a rolled ice cream and yogurt concept that originated from Thailand. The name “Elait” (e-late) is a play of words; a combination of the French word for milk, “Lait” and “Elate, which means to be ecstatically happy. Since people can’t really be sad when they eat ice cream, Elait’s goal is to spread happiness and positivity through their products. We decided to write and share about our Elait EATSperience not only because they serve up made-to-order rolled ice cream with premium ingredients but also, because we love what they are doing for our deaf brothers and sisters whom they have given job opportunities. Sounds interesting so far? Join us as we take a quick look at Elait’s first-ever stall here in the Philippines, enjoy!
Located at the 2nd level of Century Mall, with lots of kid-friendly stores and a play area. Elait’s stall is perfect for families who want to bond over ice cream. Or even for friends or couples who want to have a cold treat while strolling around.
This is a basic sign language guide when ordering to be able to communicate with their deaf-mute partners. Please try to use these when communicating with some of their staff. It’s fun and exciting to learn something new while being mindful of the way we communicate with our deaf-mute brothers and sisters.
There is an option if you want to “make your own rolled ice cream” or if you want to try their flavor combinations. Either or, their menu has a lot of great tasting toppings to choose from.

From start to finish, it was indeed loaded with chocolate! We didn’t even realize how quick our cup of rolled ice cream was made by one of their partners. It looked pretty good and we were much more intrigued on how it would taste. Elait’s rolled ice cream was smoother than expected. It was silky smooth and creamy too! All the ingredients made it so so good, as every spoonful was filled with chocolatey goodness. Well done, Elait!

If you are a bit health conscious, their yogurt base would be a good choice. But if you have a sweet-tooth, their custard base would be best. Nevertheless, a cup of their rolled ice cream is perfect for this very hot weather. It was indeed a great EATSperience having been able to try Elait’s rolled ice cream! Try to EATSperience Elait by yourself and don’t forget to tell us about it. You might discover a great flavor combination that’s worth trying. Enjoy the sweetness of life while helping out their deaf-mute partners have a living. That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations! ‘Till next time!

Thanks for featuring the Elait and the Deaf. But the correct term is Deaf and NOT Deaf-Mute. Refer to this document for guidance. https://www.nad.org/resources/american-sign-language/community-and-culture-frequently-asked-questions/

I like the branding of your ice cream, that is, rolled ice cream and serve by deaf and mute! Btw, are you now into franchising? If so, kindly send me details through my email, and if not, hope to have you in Davao. Thank you.
