Going on a road trip is always an option for a quick getaway without having too much to think about. Just ready your car, your things and a hotel to stay in, then you’re good to go. Road trips are usually accompanied with stop overs, especially if it is a long drive. In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing with you our recent overnight road trip with our friends. Our itinerary was from Manila-Nueva Ecija-Tarlac-Manila. Tarlac City is usually part of the route when traveling to Baguio City. But we’ve discovered that there is more to it than just passing by it. La Maja Rica Hotel – Tarlac City
Located in the city proper and just along the highway, La Maja Rica Hotel is convenient for those who wish to explore Tarlac and for those who would like to have an overnight stop over here. It is near a mall, a grocery store and a lot of different eateries. The facade seemed like it is a low-rise hotel but there is a 9-storey building located at the back. Since the management is doing an upgrade, they are modernizing both the interior and the ambiance of the hotel. With its spacious parking lot, it surely can accommodate quite a good number of road trippers.
Main Lobby, Cafe, and Pool Area
As we made our way inside, we saw a huge lobby with a homey ambiance and friendly staff that were accommodating. The cafe is just by the pool area, perfect for those who want to take a dip and have a good meal after. Now off to our room, as we arrived late at night and we were sleepy already.
Premier Double Room
Our room was located at the new wing of the hotel. So we got to experience the upgraded styling of the hotel. Our wooden-tiled room with minimal furniture was cozy enough for us to relax and to get a good sleep. The beds were so inviting that we didn’t want to get up early the next morning. And the clean bathroom with basic amenities, gave us a comfortable time as well.
Breakfast at the 9th Floor
The hotel was gracious enough to prepare a buffet breakfast for our group. We had breakfast in their function hall at the 9th floor. The simple yet hearty spread had Filipino breakfast favorites such as corned beef, longganisa, garlic rice, pandesal and a choice of egg with coffee, tea, and orange juice.
La Maja Rica’s Suite
The owner showed us the different rooms that they have in their new building and one of which is their La Maja Rica’s Suite. Their suite has a kitchen with a counter top, a receiving area and a spacious bedroom. Perfect for families or a group of friends!
Tarlac City has a lot to offer than just passing by it when going on a road trip. The famous Tacsiyapo wall at the Floating Isdaan Restaurant in Gerona, the ANZAP twin falls with whitewater kayaking adventure, and trekking activity in Mt.Pinatubo are some of the many other adventures that you can experience. And for a comfortable rest and relaxing time, La Maja Rica Hotel is one of the highly recommended hotels to stay in.
