Who would have thought that a Japanese restaurant like Fukudaya would be located on the ground floor of a residential building. Lucky for those who live in Arya Residences as they can just come down whenever they crave for Japanese food. Fukudaya is a casual-dining, family-friendly type of restaurant. And the moment we entered, we saw a great number of Japanese families dining, which made us really happy and excited because that is a good sign for us that they do serve really good Japanese food.

Fukudaya’s Valentine’s set menu for two!

Just in time to celebrate Valentine’s, Fukudaya Japanese Dining is launching a set menu for two for only Php 3,000. The set menu includes an appetizer bento (Marinated Cheddar in Dark Soy Sauce, Grilled Veggies with Shrimp and Tofu in Dashi Jelly, Grilled Mackerel in Sweet and Sour Radish, Sashimi, and Mixed Tempura). And to cap things off, Fukudaya’s Valentine’s set also has of Sparkling Wine and Matcha Ice Cake. This Valentine’s special will be available from February 11 to 17 only.

Mixed Tempura – Shrimp, Okra, Eggplant, and Sillago

In the bento box are 5 different starters that are individually prepared by the chef. Among the 5, we have 2 favorites. The Grilled Veggies with Shrimp and Tofu Dashi Jelly, savory in flavor with different textures from the ingredients. And the Grilled Mackerel in Sweet and Sour Radish, the palate-cleansing radish complemented the fresh mackerel.

Pan Fried Tuna Coated in 7 kinds of Japanese Chili with Miso Butter Sauce

Since there is an option to choose which main to have, we decided to have one beef and one tuna, so that we can try both. The tenderloin steak was indeed tender and juicy with salty and tangy flavors. While the pan fried coated tuna was made even better by the well-executed chili Miso butter. Both mains were equally tasty! Just imagine a Japanese-style surf and turf. What a wonderful win-win situation for us!

Valentine’s Roll and Temari Sushi (Tuna and Salmon)

Aren’t these rolls pretty?! In line with the celebration of the month love, these heart-shaped rolls tasted really fresh with a bite from the veggies. And a little spray of their light soy sauce made our EATSperience complete.

Matcha Ice Cake

Ending our meal on a sweet note. We fell in love with Fukudaya’s Matcha Ice Cake on our first bite! Creamy matcha ice cream on a bed of red beans, drizzled with chocolate sauce. Layers of texture and flavor in every bite. Well done, Fukudaya!
