It’s been a year now or 365 days ago since Mireio opened in Raffles Makati. The Provençal-inspired upscale restaurant, in-honor of its first year anniversary, will be serving a selection of its popular dishes for only Php 365 nett from now until December 12, 12:00pm until 10:30pm. Yes, you read that right. Mireio will be serving up dishes like Fresh and Smoked Salmon Tartare with Granny Smith Apple and Dijon Mustard Cream, Slow-cooked Oxtail Parmentier with Black Truffle Jus and Mesclun, and Apple Tart Tatin with Vanilla Ice Cream, just to name a few. And yes, you may devour each dish for only Php 365 nett. A Year in Provence at Mireio!
The last time we dined here was during lunch and the place had that amazing rise and shine morning vibe. With its ceiling to floor glass pannels and the natural light seeping through, we instantly fell in love with this place. As beautiful as it is during daytime, Mireio at night has an overlooking view of the Makati skyline, dimmed lights and candlelit tables, giving diners that perfect romantic ambiance.
We started our dinner with the smooth and creamy soup of green lentil. Made even tastier by the aromatic white truffle oil and the buttery and rich foie gras bits. Then, we had the tomato tart that tasted really fresh with a balance in flavor from the rocket leaves. Followed by the naturally sweet fresh and smoked salmon with a bite from the granny smith apple. All were equally good but the soup of green lentil with pan seared foie gras and white truffle oil was exceptional. A comforting bowl of it is just about right to start a wonderful meal.
We have tried the slow-cooked oxtail parmentier before and it has been our favorite ever since. This well-executed dish is a perfect mix of creamy and tender textures from the oxtail and potatoes. We also had the orzo with king prawns. The orzo is similar to a risotto but much smoother and the king prawns were plump and juicy. Last for the main course was the flaky herb-crusted jackfish with the flavorful ratatouille. For Php 365 each, we would probably order at least two of each dish at the end of a tiring day.
The chocoholics in us were awakened by the 65% Maraicabo mousse with chocolate ice cream. The rich and smooth mousse with a spoon of chocolate ice cream made us feel like we were in chocolate heaven. The apple tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream is best eaten while it is still warm. The sweetness of the stewed apple was complemented well by the vanilla ice cream. As for the lavender creme brulee, the fragrance of the lavender was really evident and the lemon madeleine gave a good balance to it.
Raffles Makati’s “A year in Provence at Mireio” is only promotion that’s available from 12nn to 10:30 pm, until December 12, 2017 only. In celebration to marking their first year here in Manila, each dish is priced at Php 365 nett. So you may order as many dish as you can for Php 365 each. Given the quality of food cooked with so much class and finesse plus, the ambiance and view, this promo is truly something that’s worth spending for.
