From the time that he was just sitting by the window of the nursery room watching over Sabine, I already knew that he’d make a good father. And on his 2nd Father’s day, our loving and caring man-of-the-house deserved to have a special weekend. In this edition of EATSplorations, allow us to share with you our Father’s day weekend, spent at New World Manila Bay, one of the finest hotels in the Metro. With the hotels’ service and the view of the scenic Manila Bay, Mr.Eats had the whole weekend to relax and to unwind. New World Manila Bay
Located at one of the busiest streets in Manila City, Pedro Gil St., New World Manila Bay is just a few blocks away from a shopping mall and is surrounded by restaurants and commercial establishments. Moreover, the hotel is just 2 minutes away from the scenic Manila Bay.
Check-in at the Residence Club
Upon entering the residence club lounge, we were taken aback, as we saw how beautiful the view was. The scenery of Roxas Boulevard and the calming sight of Manila Bay. Who wouldn’t feel giddy while checking-in at their lounge right? It wasn’t just the view that made us all excited, but also, how relaxing the ambiance was in their lounge. In their lounge, guests can have a relaxing time while having snacks and drinks while playing board games, watching, reading or just simply enjoying the view. For faster check-in and check-out, their hospitable staff will always readily be of help. Now off to our room after a warm welcome by their staff at the residence club lounge.
Premier Bayview Suite
The residence club lounge was just the icing on the cake, as we fell in love even more with our suite. Imagine having the sunset and the sunrise as the scenery while having our quality time as a family—priceless. With its floor-to-ceiling glass windows, the natural light seeping through highlighted the cozy interior of our suite. With how spacious it was, our baby enjoyed walking from the marble-tiled dining area, to the carpeted receiving area, all the way to the bedroom with a king-sized bed with soft pillows, perfect for us three. We were impressed with how they have prepared a crib for the little one, without us having to request for it. Talk about quality service rendered to their guests, this hotel has it. The modern interior of the bathroom was as equally cozy of that of the other areas in our suite. The his and hers sink, and a separate walk-in shower from the bathtub with the different bath and body amenities made our personal time soothing and comfortable.
Cocktails at the Residence Club
After lounging and relaxing in our suite, we headed back to the residence club lounge to experience their cocktails. Aside from a wide range of lavish alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic beverages, a variety of mouthwatering dishes await. The buffet spread consisted of, a selection of cheeses, cold cuts, pastries, finger food, desserts and fruits. A plate of our selected snacks paired with our cold juices and the view of Manila Bay at night made our cocktail experience pleasurable.
Dinner at The Fireplace
With its well-executed and mouthwatering dishes, Fireplace will always be one of our top picks when it comes to luxurious steaks. We opted to have light snacks for cocktails to have room for our Fireplace dinner feast. We started our dinner with some complimentary bread and appetizer followed by a bowl of their creamy and flavorful asparagus soup, which our baby enjoyed as well. Then, we had a very meaty crab croquette that was juicy on the inside and was crisp perfectly on the outside. For our main course, two dishes and two sides made its way to our table. The well-seasoned, flaky salmon and the luscious saga beef with a perfect marbling. The creamy spinach and the potato gratin were perfect side dishes to the two main courses. The melt-in-your-mouth saga beef definitely made our night! Happy Father’s Day, indeed!
Gym and Pool Time!
When we go on a staycation we do not limit ourselves inside the room only. But we also explore other amenities, especially now with our little one, who can already say “Pool!”. We make sure that she gets to enjoy her swimming time with us. New World Manila Bay’s pool area gives a calming vibe that can make you stay in for hours. With a number of daybeds, bean bags and plants surrounding the pool, who wouldn’t want to swim and chill? They also have a whirlpool for those who just want to sit and relax, and a kiddie pool for the babies to safely swim in. As for those who are up for a quick workout while on a staycation, their fully equipped gym area is readily available.
Breakfast at the Market Cafe
As we were tucked snugly under the comforter when we woke up the following morning, we had a battle between sleeping some more or satisfying the hunger that we were feeling. Of course, the latter won! We headed down to New World Manila Bay’s famous Market Cafe for breakfast. Their breakfast spread had a variety of western and asian dishes. It also had breads and pastries, cold cuts and salads. Our favorites were, their crispy bacon, hearty arroz caldo and flavorful Filipino dishes with garlic rice. We also had a cup of their creamy hot chocolate to complement these delectable dishes. After a delightful breakfast, we went back to our suite to enjoy the rest of our stay.
Dim Sum Lunch at LiLi
A day of celebration for our beloved man of the house, as we had lunch at New World Manila Bay’s Chinese restaurant, LiLi. We were excited to dine here because I, Mrs.Eats have been hearing good things about this restaurant from Mr.Eats. Hakaw, xiao long bao, taro puff and beancurd roll are just a few of the many dim sum dishes that we have ordered. Another sumptuous feast!
It was indeed a staycation worth raving about. With the good food and the great time that we had, it is one EATStaycation to remember. The 5-star service that we have experienced and the quality time that we have spent as a family certainly made our family feel recharged. As it was definitely a break from the fast-paced everyday life that we encounter. So if you are planning for a staycation that is worth every peso, New World Manila Bay will surely give you more than your money’s worth.
