Every week, we look forward trying out a new place wherein we can try something new or something familiar. At times, we EATSperience both, something familiar yet new or unique in its own way. We will be sharing with you about our unique yet familiar EATSperience at Rice & Dough. A restaurant that specializes in sushi and pizza located at Venice Grand Canal Mall in McKinley Hill, Bonifacio Global City. Are you a fan of sushi and pizza? To those of you who love sushi and can’t resist pizza at the same time, this restaurant might be “the one” for you. Owned by the same group that owns Torch Restaurant. Rice & Dough is much more focused on two things—sushi and pizza. Here, you can order lots of different sushi rolls that can be familiar and rolls that can be unique to your palette. You may also create your own sushi with their DIY option. Talking about DIY, you can also have your personalized pizza made. Sounds fun, right? Join us as we eat our way through some of Rice & Dough’s bestselling items and more in this edition of EATSplorations!
We easily spotted Rice & Dough at Venice Grand Canal Mall. It was because of the “selfie bridge” where mall-goers and tourists snap a couple of pictures to appreciate the beautiful view that the mall has. So when you see the “selfie bridge,” you will know that you are just a few steps away from Rice & Dough.
A look inside Rice & Dough…
Rice & Dough’s bright interior was pretty inviting. It was such a great fit to the backdrop that’s inspired by the canal and Venetian architecture.
After appreciating the lovely contemporary interior of Rice & Dough, it’s finally time to try out their specials! We tried an in-house sushi roll, 2 different pizzas, steak and desserts. We also tried their DIY sushi and pizza to EATSperience something more personal and special. Make sure you are hungry when you read this because we will let you EATSperience Rice & Dough through our very own EATSperience. Enjoy!
The FOOD!
Say hello to the RICE!

(mini bacon cheeseburger with sushi rice and drizzled with truffle oil)
Php 449.95
This was like sushi sliders. It tasted pretty close too. The use of sushi rice instead of the usual bun was genius. It gave the bacon cheeseburger an added depth of flavor. The truffle oil made the whole thing super fragrant and appetizing.

(soft-shell crab, kani, tamago, unagi and tuna, topped with battered shrimp togarashi, unagi aioli cream, and served flaming)
Php 399.95
This was really really good! It was our favorite sushi of this EATSperience. It would have been a perfect 10 if the flaming effect was more visible. Crunchy, juicy, and creamy. Just a few of the things that we enjoyed with the World War Roll. It had a lot going on but it had a great symphony of flavors that worked together in creating one rockin’ roll.

This was a handful to construct but it came out mighty fine! It was surprisingly good and every component worked really well in making one superb DIY sushi. TIP: Since it’s at a fixed price, make sure you choose Rice & Dough’s premium items to maximize the EATSperience
Usher in the DOUGH!

(focaccia dough with prosciutto, tomatoes, and mozarella)
Php 349.95
The focaccia dough was crispy and light. It was perfectly complemented by the thin slices of prosciutto, tangy tomatoes, and super cheesy mozzarella. If you want an appetizer that’s both tasty and filling you got to try this one!

(green bell peppers, prosciuttio, and brie)
Php 415.95
Cheesy, refreshing, and super tasty! The generous amount of cheese spread all over this pizza was the hero. The prosciutto gave that much needed level of saltiness and protein for some added excitement. If you love something simple yet delicious, make sure to order this one!

We must admit that our friend, Iana Peralta, did such a great job in coming up with our tasty DIY combos at Rice & Dough. She made sure that our DIY pizza had the best of the best meaty toppings—angus beef and prosciutto. We truly recommend that you try this DIY option at Rice & Dough when you dine there. You will definitely love the EATSperience of making your meal personalized.
The BEEF!

Php 879.95
This big piece of ribeye was cooked beautifully on the spot! The chef cooked it to a perfect medium rare which we enjoyed. The ribeye was thick, juicy, and super tasty. Perfect for meat-lovers like us!
The SWEET Stuff!

Fluffy, sweet, and really creamy! If only we didn’t consume too much carbs, we would have ordered another slice of this gorgeous and tasty cake. If you see this on display in Rice & Dough’s cake rack, tell your server right away that you want one!
Another sweet trEAT that we really enjoyed. The chocolate cake was moist and fluffy and the chocolate lava was gooey and thick. The vanilla ice cream was the cherry on top of this decadent dessert. Make sure to eat this while it is still warm to have that mouthwatering EATSperience.
We had a familiar EATSperience here at Rice & Dough because of the techniques used that was similar with Torch’s. However, some of the dishes gave us something that was new to our palate. We personally enjoyed the DIY options and we would love to try out other combinations again next time. So if you are craving for pizza and sushi, try Rice & Dough and you will surely have a wonderful EATSperience. That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations! Till next time!
