[NEW DISHES] Main Street - Kapitolyo

New EATSperiences keep piling up for us this 2017. So far, we have been to different restaurants in our weekend food-ventures and most, if not all of them were in restaurants that we haven’t tried before. In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing with you our EATSperience at Main Street Restaurant in Kapitolyo, Pasig City. Main Street claims to have “the best” Canadian comfort food in town. Since it’s just our first visit, we won’t be able to confirm the claim just yet. But, what can we do is to see whether this place can give us a great EATSperience or not through their NEW DISHES. Yes, they have 8 new dishes to replace some old items in the menu. We would have wanted to try out their old favorites to have a good taste of what they are really all about. Guess we will just have to visit Main Street again for that. Well, before you starve yourselves, here is our Main Street EATSperience, enjoy!

Main Street looks like an old house which was converted into a restaurant. It was cozy and it made us feel at home. It was really spacious and relaxing and we knew right away that it would be a good EATSperience. Main Street has a main dining area which is air-conditioned, a smoking area (looks like it used to be a garage for the house), and 3 function rooms for small parties and events.

We met Main Street’s very own Chef Adam. He was the one who briefed us about the different dishes that they will be adding on to the menu beginning this February. The new dishes include pizzas, mains, and dessert. All 9 new menu additions will be featured in this EATSperience. So, if you are planning to visit Main Street anytime after reading this EATSperience, you will probably have a chance of trying our favorites out.

4 Packed Pizzas

The Italian
(tomato basil sauce, mozzarella cheese, slices onions, crumbled Italian sausage, and dill)

This pizza flavor tasted really good and familiar. The Italian sausage was truly the star because Chef Adam made sure of it, by spreading it generously all over the pizza. If you love something that’s a real classic, you will surely love this one!

Bacon and Rosemary
(olive oil, rosemary. mozzarella and white cheese, chopped apple wood smoked bacon, and honey garlic drizzle)

No one will ever go wrong with bacon and Main Street has got a winner right here! Great play on the sweet and savory flavors by Chef Adam. He provided a great balance of flavor—the sweet, the salty, and a little bit of spicy too. The apple wood smoked bacon was divine and how we wish we could just munch it down on its own or asked more of it on our pizza.

Seafood Lovers
(tomato basil sauce, mozzarella cheese, prawns, mussels, fish fillet, basil, and parmesan cheese)

This pizza of Main Street is such an eye candy. It looked so beautiful! It also made us feel bad of eating it because it was too good to look at. Aside from its lovely presentation, it also tasted really good and fresh. We could still smell its “fresh from the sea” aroma because of the lovely mussels and basil. If you love pizzas but can’t eat meat, you got to have this!

Steak and Gorgonzola
(olive oil, mozzarella and gorgonzola cheese, sliced Kitayama flank steak, arugula, and balsamic reduction drizzle)

If you love steak, you will surely love this meaty pizza creation! Yes, it may look like a salad dish because of all the arugula on top of the pizza, but don’t let it distract you from all the beautifully cooked steak in medium rare. The steak was super tender, the combination of mozzarella and gorgonzola cheeses was super strong but tasty, and the balsamic reduction drizzle and the arugula made it refreshing.

4 Filling Mains

The Paseo
(pulled pork sandwich made with homemade baguette, garlic mayo, romaine lettuce, caramelized onions, and roasted green peppers)

This one can easily feed 2-4 people! Why? Because it’s HUGE and it’s full of pulled pork. The pulled pork alone is enough reason to try something in this new line of Main Street dishes. Plus, the fact that it has a seriously spicy surprise from the roasted green peppers. This sandwich easily is one of the best we have ever had.

Spicy Chicken Sandwich
(buttermilk fried chicken fillet coated in buffalo sauce, shredded cabbage, ranch sauce, and pickles, served with fries or salad)

Have you ever caught yourself looking for the chicken in a chicken sandwich? Well, we are glad to inform you that Main Street made sure that there will be more than enough fried chicken fillets in this Spicy Chicken Sandwich. It was super thick, juicy, and crispy! We felt like we were eating some chicken wings, only that it was in a form of a HUGE sandwich. Well done, Chef Adam!

Italian Sausage Penne
(sliced Italian sausage, penne, and tomato basil cream sauce)
Php 290

Another dish where the Italian Sausage was made to be the star. A mixture of sweet, spicy and tangy flavors from all the components of this dish. We enjoyed how the penne pasta absorbed the tomato basil cream sauce and the generous amount of Italian Sausage it had.

Miso Glazed Salmon
(pan seared salmon fillet glazed in a miso mustar sauce, served with sauteed veggies, and shallot chive fried rice)
Php 390

This was a hands down favorite of ours. The perfectly cooked salmon topped with miso glaze indeed tickled our taste buds. The pan seared salmon fillet was naturally sweet and the miso glaze added to that sweetness. The shallot chive fried rice was a perfect pair to it. Every bite was a pure delight! Out of the many good dishes that we have, this has to be a staple.

1 Classic Dessert

Apple Crumble
(sliced apples roasted in butter, honey, and cinnamon, baked with a crumble crust and topped with crushed graham crackers and vanilla ice cream)

After chowing down all the well-executed dishes, it’s time to try their new dessert, the Apple Crumble. Crisp and tangy apples made more delicious by the sweet and rich honey, butter, and cinnamon. The crumble crust was superb too! This was one classic dessert, perfectly executed by Chef Adam.


After devouring Main Street’s new dishes, we were really stuffed to the brim. Our first EATSperience here will definitely not be the last, as we will surely come back to try their other food offerings. Kapitolyo is full of great restaurants and eateries, and Main Street is surely one of them. Thank you to Chef Adam for sharing with us his new creations.
