Hello everyone! It’s been over a week now since our EATStaycation at City Garden Grand Hotel. Until now, we can still remember how great our stay was. The room was really beautiful. The view from the 32nd floor was magnificent. The food was surprisingly delicious too! In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing with you our EATSperience at Spice Cafe, an all-day dining restaurant at the 7th floor of City Garden Grand Hotel. During our stay, we were able to EATSperience Spice Cafe’s grand breakfast spread. Grand meaning they have almost every breakfast food anyone can think of plus, noodles, international and local dishes, and even dessert. It was such a treat dining at Spice Cafe for breakfast that’s why we decided to try it out for lunch. Join us and EATSperience some of Spice Cafe’s newest dishes on their revamped menu!
We weren’t really feeling hungry when we arrived at Spice Cafe but when all the food arrived on our table, everything changed. All four dishes smelled really good, were well-presented, and looked really appetizing. All of a sudden, we were hungry and excited to eat!

(beef tenderloin with rich sesame sauce and light lemon-soy sauce)
Php 759
This was one tasty and super savory dish! We enjoyed the combination of salty and tangy flavors from its sauces. The fresh veggies were refreshing and it complemented the bold flavors of the tenderloin really well.

(chicken tenders marinated in yogurt, turmeric, cumin and other spices, served with cucumber raita sauce)
Php 285
This one was unexpectedly good. We enjoyed the mix of Middle-Eastern and Southeast Asian spices that they used in making this delicious dish. The crispy and juicy chicken tenders were really fragrant and filled with great flavors because of the spice mix. The cucumber raita sauce balanced everything out because of its light and refreshing flavor.

(slow roasted and barbecued baby back ribs, served with mashed potatoes and buttered veggies)
Php 425
Super tender, fall-off-the-bone ribs! Its sweet-style barbecue sauce is perfect for the Filipino palate. The mashed potatoes and buttered veggies made this dish pretty filling and healthy too. If you are into baby back ribs, you have to try this masterpiece by Spice Cafe!

(grilled prawn and beef tenderloin, served with mashed potatoes and bearnaise sauce)
Php 950
This one was one huge plate of surf and turf! The grilled prawn was still sweet and tender, cooked to perfection. However, the tenderloin was more on the well done side of things. If it was more on medium/medium rare, this dish would easily be our favorite of the day. When we return to Spice Cafe, we will surely have this again and we will clearly instruct the server that we want it medium rare for that perfect EATSperience.
Dining at Spice Cafe was such a pleasant surprise for both of us. Our first EATSperience of their choice dishes was truly memorable because of its high quality in both taste and presentation. When we return to City Garden Grand Hotel, we will surely dine at Spice Cafe and try out their other dishes. If you haven’t EATSperienced Spice Cafe before, we suggest that you try it out first and surprise yourself. Their menu is filled with good-looking and promising dishes that are not only delicious, but also very affordable. That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations! Till next time!
