Welcome to the FIRST Buca di Beppo restaurant in the Philippines!
Located at Bonifacio Global City, Buca di Beppo is in the building right across Serendra and in line with Seda hotel. It should be easy for diners to locate this because of the well-known establishments in Bonifacio High Street that serves as its landmarks.
The festive colors of red, green and white and a fenced array of pink flowers was what welcomed us upon heading to Buca di Beppo. And to our surprise, the inside was more lovely as it was packed with Italian and American memorabilia, statues and pillars. The first floor has a few dining tables and we didn’t expect that there’s more on the second floor. When we made our way up to the second floor, we enjoyed looking at their themed tables, which by the way is something good to consider when you want to reserve a table here. Another interesting tradition here at Buca di Beppo is diners go on a tour first before heading to their tables. We had our share of the tour from our server and we were able to go inside and have a look at their open kitchen. Fun, isn’t?! A tradition set to make Buca di Beppo diners feel at home.
What to EAT at Buca di Beppo?
After the welcoming tour, we were led to our dining table on the first floor. We were handed a menu and we went to pick their bestsellers. Most of their dishes come in three sizes (S, M and L) and since we are a family of three only, we ordered the small size for the different dishes that we chose. Their menu gives out the description needed by the diners. And believe us when they say their dishes are meant to shared, even the small size is big enough to share. They have a variety of Antipasto to choose from that ranges from Php 485 – Php 1,275. Different kinds of Insalate for a refreshing start that ranges from Php 195 – Php 1,875. And of course, what is an Italian restaurant without pizza or pasta. They have a variety of pizza flavors, specialty pasta and traditional pasta that ranges from Php 575 – Php 3,975. If diners are not up for some pizza and pasta, they have a selection of Entrees that ranges from Php 475 – Php 1,575. They also have extras such as bread and sides that ranges from Php 95 – Php 585. A pretty packed menu, right? Just in case you were wondering they don’t have steaks, sandwiches, and other American staples because Buca di Beppo really focuses on classic Italian dishes.

Php 485 (M) and Php 975 (M)
Now let’s have a look at the dishes we chose. First dish, Fried Calamari with Homemade Spicy Marinara Sauce for our antipasto in medium size. It was easy to munch on this dish because deep fried baby squid were used. It was crisp and sweet in flavor and the homemade spicy marinara sauce was awesome! The marinara sauce was a combination of sweet, tangy and spicy flavors and it complemented the baby squid really well.

Php 995 (S) and Php 1,875 (L)

Php 695 (M) and Php 1,185 (L)
From the Entrees, we were informed by our server about the Buca Small size for each. That it comes with your choice of salad or side. If you want to get an entree, make sure you ask your server about the Buca Small. For the entree, we had the Prosciutto Stuffed Chicken. Chicken fillet stuffed with prosciutto and mozzarella, topped with their homemade spicy marinara sauce and served with pesto cream sauce. The thick cut of chicken was perfectly cooked and was complemented well with the tasty marinara and pesto cream sauce.

Php 575 (S), Php 1,100 (M), and Php 1,995 (L)
Finally, a pasta dish to complete our first Buca di Beppo EATSperience. We got their famous Spaghetti with Meatballs. A huge half-pound meatball on a bed of spaghetti noodles cooked in their again, amazing homemade marinara sauce. The meatball tasted more of like a sausage to us, which was really tasty and the homemade marinara sauce sealed the deal.
“Delizioso!” as how Italians say it. It was indeed a filling and delicious meal for our first EATSperience here at Buca di Beppo. It was also interesting how they take their diners on a tour first and to be able to enter the kitchen was another thing that we enjoyed. All dishes tasted fresh and it gave us that homey feeling. Buca di Beppo is perfect for family celebrations, group of friends and couples who are in for an Italian-American treat. The different sizes of their dishes can surely cater to different diners. Food was great and tasted really comforting. However, service needs to improve as most of their servers still need more training when it comes to attentiveness, knowledge of the dishes and striking conversations with guests. We hope that it improves really soon to keep up with their great-tasting food. That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations, ’till next time!
