Chinese food is best shared with family or with friends. And Chinese cuisine is one of the most sought after cuisines during get togethers or celebrations. Recently we had a dinner feast with our KTG family at one of the known Chinese restaurants in Makati City. This restaurant is a part of the Hong Kong based food group Maxim’s Caterers Ltd., that made its comeback to the food scene 2 years ago. Patrons of this restaurant are definitely happy knowing that it is open again to satisfy their cravings. In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing with you our Cantonese Feast at Jade Garden-Glorietta, Makati.
Jade Garden – Glorietta
Located in Glorietta 2, Makati City, Jade Garden has a direct parking access to the mall and its first floor serves as a lobby area, as it does not have dining tables, only elevators and a carpeted staircase that will lead diners to the main dining area.
With its huge round dining tables, green and gold motif, and well-lit restaurant, Jade Garden depicts a family-style dining. They also have 6 different function rooms, perfect for private functions. Family-style dining being mentioned, they have menu sets that can definitely cater to different preferences.
Let the Cantonese Feast begin!

Php 4,800 whole / Php 2,800 half
We started our dinner feast with this perfectly roasted suckling pig. That was served in 2 different ways. First way was solely for the crisp and crunchy skin on top of a flat bao, finshed off with a sweet sauce. Our first share of the suckling pig was really good, that we looked forward to having the second way. Which was having the flavorful meat under the delish skin.

Php 580 S / Php 870 M / Php 1,160 L
This dish had a generous amount of plump and juicy shrimps with fresh and crunchy vegetables. Clean and light in flavor, refreshing to the palate.

Php 580 S / Php 870 M / Php 1,160 L
Another dish with light and fresh flavors. The natural sweetness of the lapu-lapu is perfect with the light soya-based sauce.

We loved their fried rice with taro wrapped in lotus leaf. The natural flavor from the taro was present in every bite. The aroma of this dish was enticing as well.

Php 360 S / Php 540 M / Php 720 L

Php 440 S / Php 66 M / Php 880 L
Simple yet appetizing vegetable dishes. The fresh kailan absorbed the garlic flavor really well that made it very tasty. And the Taiwan pechay with salted fish was clean in the palate to eat.

Php 520 S / Php 780 M / Php 1,040 L
Different textures and flavors coming from the different ingredients, drenched in a sweet and savory sauce. Perfect to fill-up hungry tummies.

We are fans of salted egg and this golden crab with salted egg dish was a delight to have. The crabs were cooked perfectly that it absorbed the sauce well. That both the shell and the juicy crab meat had a fair share of the flavor of the salted egg sauce.

This crab dish had a lighter flavor and it was more refreshing. The natural sweetness of the crab meat and the sauce had a good balance.

Out of the 3 crab dishes that we had, this crab dish was the most flavorful. From the different ingredients and spices, the flavor of this hotpot seeped through the crab meat as well. And the vermicelli noodles made the sauce thicker.

After having all the delectable dishes, a bowl of this hot almond puree with dumpling sealed the deal. Creamy and thick soup with just the right amount of sweetness and the dumpling similar to a mochi ball had a black sesame filling inside.
One thing that we noticed in our Jade Garden EATSperience was that most of the dishes were clean in taste and in flavor. Our personal favorites in this set were, of course, the crispy skin of the roasted suckling pig, fried rice with taro wrapped in lotus leaf, kailan with minced garlic, golden crab with salted egg and the hot almond puree with dumpling. We definitely had a sumptuous dinner feast with out KTG family. For your next gathering or celebration, consider Jade Garden and have an enjoyable Cantonese feast. That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations. Until next time!
