When talking about Japanese food, sushi always comes to mind. A variety of raw and fresh seafood on a bed of rice plated and served with a dipping sauce. In most restaurants, sushi is brought to the table, while some, have sushi plates placed on a conveyor belt. In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing with you our recent one of a kind sushi EATSperience. It was neither brought to our table, nor placed on a conveyor belt. But it was delivered through a bullet train. Interesting, right? Join us as we talk about our interactive EATSperience at Genki Sushi-Ayala Malls the 30th.
Welcome to Genki Sushi!

Located at the 2nd floor of the Ayala Malls the 30th, Genki Sushi has an indoor dining area and an outdoor dining area at the veranda. The ambiance is very straightforward. White walls with tables set-up like a booth, that can probably seat 6 people. We shared our first Genki Sushi EATSperience in Manila, with our friends. Nothing’s more fun than having a meal with people who has the same love for food.
Ordering at Genki Sushi
We had an interactive dining EATSperience here at Genki Sushi. Each table has a tablet, wherein we just easily swiped and tapped our chosen items. Then we just waited for a few minutes and… Voila! Our orders arrived via a bullet train. Baby Eats was so amazed that she kept waiting and waiting for the food. When our orders arrived, a small round button was the key to make the bullet train travel back to the kitchen. It was also convenient because we were able to view a summary of our bill in the table as well.

Genki Sushi has also other items in the menu aside from a wide variety of sushi. Just like these 3 appetizers that we had. Since we love fried food, these appetizers started our meal on a right note. Our favorites were the crispy fried salmon skin and the juicy fried chicken, topped with sweet and creamy Pollock Roe.
Trio Selections for only Php 199 each!

(Kani, Kani Black Pepper, and Kani Pollock Roe)

(Shrimp, Shrimp Pollock Roe, and Shrimp Black Pepper)

(Salmon, Salmon Pollock Roe, and Salmon Black Pepper)

(Crab Salad, Spicy Salmon, and Tuna Salad)
The different trio sets were really filling. All tasted fresh and delicious. However, the trio that stood out for us were the Salmon Trio and the Gunkan Trio. We are suckers for salmon and we loved the variation it had in this set. Sweet and fresh slices of salmon that gave a melt-in-your-mouth kind of EATSperience. As for the Gunkan Trio, it had a combination of sweet and spicy flavors, creamy and smooth textures that really filled us up.
Salmon Donburi!

Php 380

Yes, more Salmon for us! Flaky and naturally sweet salmon drenched with 2 different sauces. Our favorite was the Salmon Teriyaki Donburi. The sweetness from the teriyaki sauce was just right. Both rice bowls had a generous amount of rice good for sharing. Especially after having several pieces of sushi.

What we will remember in this dining EATSperience is, the way they make things interactive for their diners. From the ordering process, to the make-your-own hot tea drink, to receiving your orders in a bullet train. It can be a bit pricey, as one plate of sushi is usually not enough. But the billing summary will help you keep track if you are over your budget already or if you can still indulge. So if you are craving for sushi, you have a budget and you want to have an interactive dining experience, head on to Genki Sushi and enjoy what they have to offer. That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations. Until next time!
