The Ortigas area in Pasig City is a district that we rarely visit. Aside from the fact the we kind of live far from there, the traffic situation in that area can be really challenging too. Luckily, we had a chance to visit Ortigas and spend our weekend there, that started on a Sunday, which means no traffic. Our weekend staycation made us see that there are a lot to explore in this area. Including the awarded five-star rating by Forbes Travel Guide for 2 consecutive years, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila. Wanna find out why this hotel has been in the list for 2 consecutive years already? Join us as we share about our EATStaycation Weekend at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila! Enjoy!
Weekend at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila!
Located at the heart of Ortigas center, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila is one of Forbes Travel Guide’s finest. The property garnered a 5-star rating for two straight years. Some of many reasons may be because of its genuine hospitality, excellent service and sophisticated architecture. Part of the hotel chains under Marco Polo, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila is a hotel that can cater to families, foreign tourists and businessmen. It also has in-house restaurants that will make the stay of the guests even more convenient. Now on to our room!
Superior Room with an amazing view of the city!
We stayed at a superior room on the 36th floor that gave us an amazing view of the city. Spacious enough to let our little one explore and she did enjoy seeing the city lights at night and the sky during the day.
We loved that there was a daybed by the window that made it easier for us to appreciate the view even more. We also loved the huge bathroom with a separate shower room and bath tub. And the work desk, perfect for Mr. Eats to catch up on some work. Guests who are in for pleasure or for work will surely have a luxurious time staying here.
Afternoon Tea at the Connect Lounge
Of course, we loved the traditional classic set but the Asian classics were such a delight. The pork buns were fluffy and flaky, which Baby Eats really loved. We had a taste of savory dishes from the Asian classics and sweet flavors from the traditional set. Plus, we got to choose from their tea selection and coffee offerings.
Playtime at the Piccolo Kids Club!
An area for kids makes our staycation really worthwhile. As it makes us happy to see Baby Eats enjoying herself not just in the boundaries of the room. The Piccolo Kids Club has a ball pit, a child-sized basketball, a slide and story books.
The moment we entered the play area, Baby Eats instantly wanted to swim in the ball pit. Look at how chill she was lying down on a pool of colorful balls. We liked that it had a variety of toys and books that the children can really enjoy.
Dinner at Lung Hin!
Come night time, our tummies were ready to take in some good Cantonese food at Lung Hin. It is the in-house Chinese restaurant at Marco Polo Ortigas Manila that serves classic Cantonese dishes. The elegant and classic interior of Lung Hin gives diners an intimate ambiance.
Breakfast at Cucina!
It was our first time to try Cucina for breakfast and we were happy with the breakfast selection. From their pastries to their continental and local breakfast dishes. We sat by the window to enjoy the morning sunlight while feasting on our breakfast.
A spread that can cater to a lot of breakfast cravings. From Asian to Western dishes, and some Filipino staples. We really loved the pastries and bread section. It really caught our attention because it was nestled in a semi-private section of the buffet spread and there were a good number of choices like croissants, soft rolls, and some Filipino favorites like puto. kutsinta, ensaymada and pandesal. The classic breakfast staples like corned beef, omelette, pancakes, bacon and garlic rice were really good too.
Swimming for the Little One!
It has been frequently raining since June came and we had barely no chance of letting the little one have fun swimming. Luckily, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila has an indoor pool, which we found really convenient. It gave us a spa like atmosphere—calm, relaxing and the water temperature was just right.
We loved the indoor pool so much that we didn’t notice the time. Baby Eats didn’t want to leave as she really had a great time splashing and doing her kicks in the warm water. It was such a lovely weekend spent at the heart of Ortigas. Excellent service, warm hospitality, impeccable food and great location for tourists and locals alike. No wonder it has been a recipient of 5-star rating by Forbes Travel Guide for 2 consecutive years already. Well done, Marco Polo Ortigas Manila! That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations, ’till next time!

Ah yes, Lung Hin! Me and my girlfriend tried out their pork buns some years ago, back when it was cited as one of the best pork buns in Manila. 🙂
