Pi Breakfast and Pies The Grove

Hello everyone! We are back with our latest EATSperience from our first food crawl of the year, Food Hop 2017, organized by Zomato and The Grove by Rockwell! Food Hop 2017 aims to promote The Grove and its restaurants as a great alternative to our usual favorites. Because of this, we were able to EATSperience 3 establishments at The Grove. In this edition of EATSplorations, we will share our Pi Breakfast and Pies EATSperience! It was our first time to dine there and it looked pretty promising from the get go. Who wouldn’t be intrigued by the words breakfast and pies, right? We can’t wait to share what we’ve EATSperience so here it goes, enjoy!

Pi Breakfast and Pies The Grove

Yup! Pi as in 3.1415… Well played, Pi Breakfast and Pies! As the restaurant’s name suggests, they serve up different kinds of breakfast and pies, all-day, everyday! So, if you are a breakfast food kind of person like us, you will really find this place interesting. Enough talk for now, it’s time to show you what we were able to try.

All-day breakfast feast at Pi Breakfast and Pies!

The breakfast presented to our group was one for the ages! We have never EATSperienced anything like it before. While taking photos of the food, we were both trying our  best to stay as patient as we could before devouring these lovely breakfast plates. Eggs Benedict, Spam and Garlic Rice, Huevos Rancheros, and many more! Are you hungry yet?

Big Breakfast Platter (Hungarian, Italian, and Pinoy dinuguan sausages, 2 sunny-side-up eggs, potato hash, toasted brioche, roasted button mushrooms, bacon strips, pork & beans, and roasted tomatoes) Php 595
Big Breakfast Platter
(Hungarian, Italian, and Pinoy dinuguan sausages, 2 sunny-side-up eggs, potato hash, toasted brioche, roasted button mushrooms, bacon strips, pork & beans, and roasted tomatoes)
Php 595

The ultimate breakfast platter! This one was really huge. Perfect for sharing. It’s everything we were looking for and more in a breakfast platter. Make sure you are starving when you order this huge plate of breakfast goodness.

Pi Breakfast and Pies The Grove
Huevos Rancheros
(zucchini, eggplant, sweet potato, beans, tomato, bacon, chicken skin, bell peppers, cheddar and ricotta cheese, cilantro, eggs, and Italian sausage)
Php 275

Super hearty breakfast plate! Lovely tangy flavor from the tomato base. This dish was just bursting with a symphony of flavors that worked really well in creating a one of a kind breakfast dish. More bread on the side would have made this dish perfect and more filling!

Pi Breakfast and Pies The Grove
Breakfast Gumbo
(Cajun-style tomato stew dish with chicken, homemade sausage, shrimps, peppers, okra, spices, and white rice, topped with poached egg)
Php 275

Another gigantic plate by Pi Breakfast and Pies! We have never tried a gumbo before but this one was pretty good. The tomato stew was rich with a little bit of heat from the spices. We would love to order this again though so we can have a better taste at it.

Pi Breakfast and Pies The Grove
Eggs Benny
(thick-cut bacon, five-minute eggs, English muffin, asparagus, tomato, dill hollandaise, and spiced shoestring potato fries)
Php 275

We loved this this because of the creaminess of the five-minute eggs and thick-cut bacon. However, it would have been better if the bacon was thicker than the tomato. Aside from the thick slice of tomato, the Eggs Benny was great especially the blending of the creamy egg yolk and the silky smooth hollandaise.

Pi Breakfast and Pies The Grove
Caramelized Spam
(served with garlic rice, kimchi, five-minute egg, pesto, and scallions)

The usual Spam made even better! We haven’t had Spam in a long long time and this dish made us crave for it even more. This was the hands down tastiest dish of the day! The combination of Caramelized Spam and Garlic Rice alone just made this EATSperience extra special. Well done, Pi Breakfast and Pies!

Pi Breakfast and Pies The Grove
Peanut Butter Honeycomb Pie
Php 215

Now, this is how every EATSperience should end! Through a beautiful plate of dessert. Creamy, chocolaty, and not too sweet. Being big fans of peanut butter, this was a great dessert with lots of peanut butter flavor and chocolate in it. Well executed dessert!

FavorEATS of this EATSperience!

Pi Breakfast and Pies The Grove

[Mr. Eats] This was my favorEAT dish of this EATSperience. Why? I loved how the egg was cooked. It wasn’t the traditional poached egg but it worked really well. The yolk was still runny and creamy. One bite out of the egg, bacon, and English muffin, was more than enough to make my day.

Pi Breakfast and Pies The Grove

[Mrs. Eats] I’m so used to having my spam in thin, elongated slices and Pi Breakfast and Pies gave me a new reason to love spam even more. These cubes of caramelized Spam gave me that mouthwatering EATSperience. And the Kimchi under the garlic rice is an innovative way to the staple spam and rice combo.

Pi Breakfast and Pies The Grove

We had a great first time at Pi Breakfast and Pies. It was everything we needed and more when it comes to the food and the ambiance. If Pi Breakfast and Pies is not faraway from where we live, we would easily be frequent diners because of the breakfast comfort food that they serve. That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations! Till the second installment of Food Hop 2017 with Zomato and The Grove!
