Easter Staycation at Holiday Inn & Suites Makati

Last year, during Easter, we were not able to celebrate as we were in 2 different places. That’s why this year’s Easter weekend was special. It is a first for the EATSplorations family. Being it the first, we decided to have a relaxing weekend in the metro. Our Easter staycation was spent in one of the most accessible hotels in Makati City. Located just right at the heart of the Ayala Center or more specifically at the Glorietta, this hotel makes it convenient for their guests to enjoy their stay both inside and outside of the hotel. In this edition of EATSplorations, allow us to share with you our Easter Staycation at Holiday Inn & Suites Makati.

We booked a deluxe room with executive lounge access for our very first Easter together. It was spacious enough for the little one to walk around. The king-sized bed was big enough for us three, and we liked that there were 2 types of pillows (soft & firm) to choose from. The softer ones were maximized since both Mr. & Mrs. were more comfortable with it. Our room had a working table (with sockets and cable plugs within reach), and a wireless speaker that we enjoyed using to entertain our baby. Their bathroom (though we do not have photos of it) has a big shower room with complete toiletries and basic amenities.

Since we stayed during the Easter weekend, an Easter chick with chocolates and cakes started our stay on a sweet note. A fruit basket and a bottle of wine made it even better. We were really in for a great stay as we loved how hospitable and accommodating the staff were, the cleanliness and completeness of the room and the amenities that the hotel had. One of the amenities that we were able to use was their executive lounge, as our room had an access to it.

Executive Lounge

Their executive lounge is located on the 19th floor. Having an access to it allows their guests to have high tea (from 3pm-5pm), evening cocktails (from 6pm-8pm), breakfast buffet (if you opt not to have it in their cafe and if you want fewer choices), and an option to check-out there at the end of your stay. The lounge has a great view of the cityscape and a few tables perfect for those who want to chill. We were able to EATSperience their high tea. The spread had finger food like sandwiches and chips, cakes and cookies and beverages from their fridge or coffee, tea and juices that can be requested. The evening cocktails was skipped since we were graciously advised ahead of time that kids are not allowed during this time. The following day, which was a Sunday, since we were able to wake up early, we chose to have breakfast in the cafe for a complete dining EATSperience. The breakfast spread had a variety of pastries, hot and cold dishes of Western, Japanese, Chinese and Filipino cuisines. Breakfast staples such as cereals, pancakes, waffles, bacon and eggs, fruits and juices. They also have taho which is a breakfast favorite for Filipinos. We loved that their buffet can cater to any diner, may it be for those with dietary restrictions or for those who can eat anything. As they have dishes that are labeled according to certain diet specifications, which we thought was very smart and thoughtful of the management, since it makes it easy for their guests to identify the types of food without even asking. From their freshly-baked pastries to their other dishes, we enjoyed good food with good quality. After having a hearty breakfast, we rested for a while to warm ourselves up for—swimming!

With the scorching heat, plunging in the pool is always a good idea. Located at the Rooftop, Holiday Inn & Suites has a small pool perfect for kids, and a lap pool perfect for the older ones and for those who know how to swim. We liked how the security guards and the life guards made sure that safety is first. They were attentive and were keen in observing the area to make sure that the guests are in good hands. We were extra excited to swim because it was our baby’s first swimming experience. With her rash guard and floaties, Sabine’s ready to take that dip. She cried at first because it was something new, but eventually she was able to enjoy the water. The water was not too cold because of the sun’s heat, which made it easy for her to adjust. We indeed had a great time swimming with our little one.

The accessibility and location of Holiday Inn & Suites is perfect for both leisure and business travelers who are looking for a convenient place to stay in. Being it close to a mall, public transportation, restaurants, retail establishments and other essential needs (grocery, convenient stores) are all within reach. It is also close to several malls that can be reached by foot (Greenbelt, Landmark and SM), for strolling or shopping purposes. With warm hospitality, great service and good food, our Easter Staycation was made memorable by Holiday Inn & Suites. We definitely enjoyed our first time at this beautiful hotel and it will surely not be the last.
