In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing about Sustainable Seafood Feast at CATCH in Heat – Edsa Shangri-La! CATCH is a one of a kind all-you-can-eat EATSperience held every Thursday at HEAT. Heat prides itself on having one of the best-unlimited dining experiences in Metro Manila for a long long time now and it just got better because of CATCH! What is CATCH again, you may ask? Well, CATCH is a market-style seafood buffet EATSperience that features sustainable seafood caught in the Philippines, Vietnam, and even Antarctica. At CATCH, diners will be able to choose whichever sustainable seafood they’d like to have and have it cooked and prepared the way they want. Keep on reading to find out more about CATCH, enjoy!
Sustainable Seafood Feast at CATCH in Heat – Edsa Shangri-La!
Right before we went to our table, we were welcomed by this huge scoreboard-like information about the sustainable seafood that we will be having. It was actually very good to know which types of fish and seafood the buffet has because it’s a great way for diners like us to appreciate and respect it more. Also, in case you were wondering, CATCH Sustainable Seafood is only Php 2,525 nett per person and is only available every Thursday night.
Before we show you the all you can eat seafood, we would like to share the Heat staples first. Like this one, the Pork Belly Lechon at the carving station! No words to describe how lovely this slab of roasted pork belly is that night. It had the juiciest meat with the right ratio of fat and flesh plus the amazing crispy lechon skin. This alone is a good reason already to visit Heat on any given day.
After the Pork Belly Lechon, here’s one of the must not to miss items on the buffet, the Roasted Prime Rib! This one had perfection written all over it. It was cooked exactly the way we want our beef to be. Medium rare, extremely tender and juicy. Now, we’re ready to show you the seafood!
Basically, an EATSperience at CATCH means getting your own fresh and sustainable seafood and letting the chefs and cooks of Edsa Shangri-La’s Heat take care of it! Grilled, Garlic Butter, Chili Garlic, Sinigang, Steamed, and so on. Make sure to ask their friendly staff about how each seafood is best prepared so that you will be able to maximize your EATSperience!

We got lots of salmon, haha! We had ours grilled and sinigang sa miso. Yum, yum!!!
Sinigang na Salmon sa Miso! The perfect balance of sour and salty with just the right amount of sweetness and fat from the salmon slices. Make sure to get a lot of rice with this one. We know it’s against the rules of enjoying a buffet, but trust us, you will need it.
Another sinigang dish but with a different kind of seafood is this Sinigang na Sugpo (prawn) sa Sampalok! A classic sinigang dish that every Filipino food and seafood lover will surely devour. Plump and juicy prawns that are perfect with the comforting tamarind broth!
Garlic Butter Prawns with Chili! Rice, rice, and more rice, please! Simply irresistible seafood dish. Why? Because of the succulent prawns, fatty head, and the amazing garlic butter sauce. It’s mandatory for us to use our hands for dishes as sumptuous as this!
Moving on to the crabs here’s Heat’s version of Salted Egg Crabs! Fatty and meaty crabs that were just too good. We know it can be taxing to get the meat of these bad boys but man, it’s worth it! The salted egg flavor was present inside and out. Definitely, a must-try!
Crabs with Sisig! Yes, you read that right, Crabs with Sisig. As if crabs weren’t sinful and tasty enough, we had it with Sisig and man, it was probably the tastiest dish of this EATSperience! Rich, sweet, crispy, and a little tangy. That’s what this dish was all about.
Speaking of something rich, say hello to the Salted Egg Prawns! The balance of flavors on this one was also impeccable. We enjoyed how the freshness and sweetness of the prawns were complemented by the creamy sweet and salty salted egg sauce. It was so hard to say no to this dish. Awesome job, Heat!
Enough of the personalized sustainable seafood, Heat’s CATCH also has a lot of delectable dishes on their buffet spread like this Fish Curry right by the Indian station. This one’s comforting curry flavor is best enjoyed with their freshly made Naan bread.
A wide selection of fried seafood can also be found at the buffet spread. The must-tries are the Squid and Fish Skewers along with the thick-cut fries, hehe.
Last but certainly not least, our favorite, the Mackerel Shawarma! We had at least two of these because it was simply that good. Even though we were easily stuffed because of it, our tummies were extremely happy. The fish was just too soft and flaky and the spices and sauce of the shawarma were spot on awesome. After everything, we can honestly say that CATCH at Heat in Edsa Shangri-La is something that we would definitely try over and over again.
