Just a week ago, I, Mr. Eats, went to one of my favorite places in the Philippines, Bohol! I’ve been to Bohol 4 or 5 times already but there’s always something new for me to see and EATSperience. Ever since my first visit, 11 years ago, I’ve loved the place because of its beauty, food, and people. I love it because it’s still very clean, peaceful, and not so commercialized yet. In this edition of EATSplorations, I will be sharing about my stay in one of the best, if not the best resort, in Panglao Island, Amorita Resort! I have always checked it out on the web and in social media but have never stayed there until last week. Keep on reading to find out more about my EAT and EXPLORE EATSperience at Amorita Resort in Panglao, Bohol, enjoy!
Amorita Resort in Panglao, Bohol!
Amorita Resort is located along the white sand stretch of Alona Beach in Panglao Island, Bohol. It has the lovely view of Alona Beach because it’s elevated and located on a cliff. Don’t worry though, beach access is still just a few steps away from Amorita’s little brown gate. Aside from Alona’s lovely beach, guests can also swim their hearts out in two infinity pools. Both pools offer a different view of the seas of Bohol. Amorita houses Saffron Restaurant and Tomar Tapas x Bar, two restaurants that’ll surely make anyone’s escape even more delightful. The resort also has a dive shop, a gym and a spa for their guests wellness needs.
My room: Amorita’s Junior Suite!
The Junior Suite was really beautiful! I couldn’t believe I was staying in that size of a room alone. I really wish my wife and baby were with me during my stay. I guess I really have to return to Amorita and of course, next time both of them will be with me. My favorite part of the room was the super comfy bed! I slept right in after settling down. The lighting was perfect, too! I don’t know, I just loved the room so much that after each activity, I would immediately go back and chill there.
Highlights of my Amorita EATSperience!
Things I enjoyed the most during my Amorita Resort EATSperience!
Welcome lunch at Saffron Restaurant!
After a short flight and a short ride, I was, of course, a little hungry. Well, I was really hungry, hehe! I loved that Amorita’s main restaurant was facing one of their beautiful pools and of course, the sea. The food was great! I enjoyed the Mongolian grill station that they set up. The shrimp and beef noodles was perfection. The buffet spread also had some fresh and healthy dishes which was great because it was not just healthy, it was delicious, too!
Massage at the Sea Tree Spa!
When I fly out of Manila, I always look forward to having a little time at the spa to complete the escape. Thanks to Amorita Resort for treating me and my fellow media friends to a complimentary spa treatment of our choice. I really don’t enjoy massages with oil so I went for the dry massage. My therapist was so good that I went to sleep in no time and woke up rejuvenated from the experience. Make sure to book a treatment in advance so that you don’t miss out on any of their amazing treatments!
Dinner at Tomar Tapas x Bar!
I’m saying it now, Tomar Tapas x Bar is the BEST restaurant in Bohol. I know it’s a huge statement but I’m standing by it. Why? The Spanish dishes that they served us during our stay was flat out AMAZING! From the pintxos and tapas, down to the paella and sangria. Everything, I mean everything was just outstanding. My personal favorites were the croquettes, paella negra, and surprisingly, the sangria. This restaurant of Amorita is a must-try!
Breakfast at Saffron Restaurant!
No matter how sleepy I was, I just had to wake up and eat breakfast at Saffron! Well, it’s a given that breakfast food is irresistible. However, what makes breakfast more awesome in Saffron is the place’s charm and of course, the view that welcomed each and every spoonful of crispy thin bacon and rice. I just loved having breakfast even more, thanks to Saffron’s great offerings, it’s attentive and competent staff, and it’s lovely ambiance.
Sunset cocktails at the Cliff Deck!
FREE COCKTAILS for all guests! If I remembered it correctly, Amorita treats all their drinking guests to sunset cocktails every Wednesday and Friday. It’s a chance to enjoy the sunset more and probably to get guests to hangout and get to know each other. Giving away free drinks is always a great gesture and I really enjoyed this part of our stay even though I don’t really drink so much. It was just fun enjoying a glass of my favorite drink while looking at the sunset.
Send-off dinner at the Cliff Deck!
The send-off dinner was filled with so much Mediterranean dishes! I personally enjoyed the shawarma, kebabs, and salt crusted fish stations. My favorite dish of the evening was the shrimp kebab! It was fun eating and chatting with fellow bloggers while enjoying good food and music. It was a great time to think and look back at the amazing stay I EATSperienced.
Thank you, Amorita Resort!
I had a great time at Amorita Resort! Thanks to the management of Amorita Resort for having me over! Also, thanks to AirAsia for flying us safely and comfortably to and fro. I have been to Bohol several times already but my stay in Amorita will always be one of the best EATSperiences I have had in Bohol. I can’t wait to return and enjoy more of what Amorita has to offer, with my family. That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations! ‘Till next time!
