Since school ended last March, summer for us means, more time to be in a hunt for something new to try. A few weeks back, we were able to get a chance to visit one of the relatively newest hotels in the metro. It has been the talk of the town since they opened because it is located in the hustling and bustling city of Makati. In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing about Discovery Primea’s, Tapenade. Tapenade just recently launched an entirely new menu that will surely give diners something new to look forward to. Tapenade is the all-day dining outlet of Discovery Primea. They recently revamped their whole menu with flavors familiar and exotic from France to Turkey.
Located at the ground floor of Discovery Primea, with its high-ceiling, simple yet classy interior, Tapenade gives diners a casual-dining feel.
Starting things off with The Salad Room!
Tapenade has a salad room priced at Php 780, except during Thursdays as they have a #Throwback Thursdays promo of offering back its original price, that is Php 620. We really enjoyed the Salad Room. An array of assorted cheeses, lettuce, salads, charcuterie, and chilled seafoods. This alone was already filling and satisfying. But of course, we still left some space for the new and exciting dishes.
Exciting Mediterranean dishes we EATSperienced!
Braised Chilean mussels with chorizo and tomato broth with grilled ciabatta. The salty flavors from the chorizo and the tangy broth complemented the huge mussels really well.
Scallops is one of our favorite seafood, and this Cebu Bay scallops pan-roasted with brown butter, garlic and parsley was such a delight. Strong flavors from the garlic blended with the natural sweetness from the butter and scallops.
Tender and juicy seared lamb riblets with Sicilian pumpkin, cool lemon ricotta and mint. The cool lemon ricotta and mint were good contrasts in flavor.
Fragrant and flavorful Morrocan Gambas. Plump shrimps cooked in aromatic spices, cilantro and cherry tomatoes.
Definitely a seafood feast. Fresh clams braised in white wine, with Spicy Spanish chorizo and fresh herbs. A must-try!
Earthy flavors from the gently cooked mushrooms with savory prosciutto ham, quail eggs and truffle oil. Another favorite that we recommend!
After a hearty spread of tapas, antipasti, and mezze, time for some carbs. Every spoonful of this seafood paella was so comforting. Shrimps, squids, mussels, clams and mahi-mahi fillet. Talk about the finest quality of all the seafood in one dish.
For meat-lovers like us, this Porcini Ribeye was a treat. Perfectly cooked ribeye with arugula, balsamic vinegar and parmigiano-reggiano. Tender slices that is perfect for sharing.
Tapenade’s new menu is all about bold and summery flavors that was inspired from the French coast, Italy, Greece, Turkey and Morocco.
