Dampa at Home with G Squared Palutuan!

Hello, everyone! Do you miss going to Dampa? You know, going to Macapagal (Seaside), heading over to the wet market that’s full of super-fresh seafood, and choosing a restaurant that will cook it to your liking. Yup, that Dampa EATSperience that you usually have with family or with a group of friends. In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing our Dampa at Home EATSperience with G Squared Palutuan! First of all, it was our friends from the Sini Gang Podcast’s fault. We were just watching their episode about classic Pinoy seafood dishes and even before it ended, we just browsed our way to G Squared Palutuan’s Facebook page and the rest was history. Keep on reading to find out more about our Dampa at Home EATSperience, enjoy!

Dampa at Home with G Squared Palutuan!

It all started with us messaging G Squared Palutuan on Facebook. We really looked for them because they are one of the OG paluto restaurants ever since Dampa’s inception several years ago. G Squared has always been our go-to palutuan in Dampa. We were pleasantly surprised that they have a chatbot ordering system which made the experience really seamless and easy. To think that we ordered at around 10:30pm to 11:00pm! Awesome, right?

The images above were the things that G Squared Palutuan sent us right after confirming if they can reach our place. It has the price list of the seafood that they have, cooking charges, and even some non-seafood dishes that they offer.

After a few minutes of choosing which ones to have, we finally went with Shrimp Tempura, Buttered Garlic Shrimps, Halaan Soup, and Baked Tahong! Classic seafood dishes that we usually order whenever we dine at G Squared. After ordering, they gave us a clear breakdown of the things that we ordered including the cooking, packaging, and delivery charges. Everything added up to a total of Php 1,950. Pretty affordable, right?!

The delivery arrived just in time for lunch and everything was hot and fresh! Finally, it’s time for us to EATSperience these seafood dishes again. Let’s eat!

Halaan Soup (Clam Soup / 0.5 kg) Php 240

Started off with our favorite Dampa soup! The Halaan Soup or Tinolang Halaan (if we’re not mistaken, feel free to correct us) is very comforting and delicious. It has the sweetness of the fresh clams complemented by the aromatics of the soup. Very simple yet extremely tasty! Definitely, the best way to kick off a Dampa EATSperience.

Baked Tahong (0.5kg) Php 290

This one’s a legendary G Squared/Dampa favorite, the Baked Tahong! This cheesy, buttery, and meaty seafood dish is always a must when we eat at Dampa. Good thing there was no red tide because it has been a long time since we last had Baked Tahong. It still tastes divine and it goes perfectly with a lot of steamed white rice!

Shrimp Tempura (0.5kg) Php 550

One of our favorite shrimp dishes in and out of Dampa, the Shrimp Tempura! Tender and juicy large-sized shrimps in a light a crispy batter. Nothing beats that or maybe the next dish will, hehe. G Squared’s Shrimp Tempura is pretty legit and it goes perfectly with their sweet sort of Pinoy-style tempura sauce that’s so good you can eat it with rice! At 550 pesos, we got around 10-12 pieces of tempura. Pretty good deal compared to most Japanese restaurants in the Metro!

Buttered Garlic Shrimp (0.5kg) Php 480

Last but definitely not the least, our all-time favorite, the Buttered Garlic Shrimp! It’s a mortal sin not having this when you dine at G Squared because they cook up some of the best that we have ever had and probably one of the best in Metro Manila, too. This one was pretty sweet, buttery, really fragrant, and super fresh. We ate lots of rice because of its sauce alone! It was that good. This was really really good and affordable at 480 pesos. Can’t wait to order this one from G Squared Palutuan, soon!

Full disclosure, this post was not sponsored in any way. We ordered on our own simply because we really love G Squared and we also wrote this post so that we can help them let their regulars know that they are open. Also, if you have never tried them before or if you simply love seafood, please do check them out! You will surely have a great seafood EATSperience. That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations, until next time!
