Good thing though, just over the weekend, we were able to visit the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City! Azalea Residences Baguio is located along the Leonard Wood Loop, just a few minutes away from the bustling city center and other go to tourist destinations and eateries in Baguio. Azalea Residences Baguio is home to almost a hundred luxury rooms. Each room having its own kitchen aside from the usual amenities a hotel has to offer, making it the only hotel/serviced apartment in Baguio.

I loved the hotel’s high ceiling lobby because it was naturally lit through its huge glass panels. It was a pretty breezy place to be in, and a lot of guests, including us, enjoyed hanging out their while waiting for our ride out. Welcoming guests is a red carpet that leads to the front desk where of course, guests check-in. Also located at the lobby are Azalea’s 8 Degree Bar Lounge and Tradisyon: Pinoy Comfort Food (Azalea’s only in-house restaurant).

Together with my friends, we got a little tour just before checking-in and we were able to take a look inside their Deluxe Room with two single beds and a sofa bed. The room is probably big enough for a small family of 4 and it has its own kitchen. So, if you guys want to cook, this kitchen will surely come in handy. Aside from the Deluxe Room, we were also taken inside a Two-Bedroom Loft which is bigger of course, and it also had a really high ceiling. It’s perfect for a family of around 6-8.

I, together with my friends stayed in a Two Bedroom Apartment Suite. One room for the ladies (Princess of PhantasmDarkstar.com and Bettina of BettinaBacani.com), one room for Richie of ThePickiestEater.net), and the sofa bed for me). The suite also has a fully functional kitchen, 3 flatscreen TV’s, 2 toilet and bath, and a balcony with a lovely view of the property.

The room was pretty spacious. It’s perfect for a group of friends and family. It was pretty cozy and great for enjoying the wonderful climate that Baguio has. The view out the balcony was lovely, too. I kind of kept it open through the night to cool the room even more. It’s safe to say that all of us slept soundly for two nights because we simply loved the beautiful room that we stayed in.

Tradisyon is Azalea Residences Baguio’s all-day in-house restaurant. Guests can have breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. It also has various buffet offerings for walk-ins and in-house guests. They have Mexican and Persian Buffet every Wednesdays, Local Culinary Treasures every Thursdays, Asian Buffet every Fridays, Tuscany Steak Night Buffet every Saturdays, Brunch Buffet every Friday to Sunday, and Afteroon Pizza and Pasta every Sundays. That’s a lot of food for everyone! What’s even better is that their buffet offerings are very affordable. It only ranges from Php 250 to Php 550 per person. Yes, you read that right. You will never go hungry in Azalea Baguio and you won’t bust a hole in your wallet in the process.

Breakfast at Tradisyon was really really good! They have all sorts of Filipino and International offerings for everyone. The best ones I’ve had were the Baguio Longganisa, Espada Danggit, Kinalas Soup, Goto Lugaw, and unlimited cups of Hot Chocolate. After a lovely sleep, waking up for breakfast at Tradisyon was truly such a delight! TIP: Make sure to wake up early or check with the hotel staff first before going down because the restaurant can easily get filled up. Be very patient especially during weekends and peak season.

The last time I visited Baguio was a couple of years back, and I’m glad that I visited this lovely city again. I had a food-filled and fun-filled weekend EATSperience with fellow foodies and travel enthusiasts. My stay in Azalea Residences Baguio was great but it was made even better by their ever so reliable and hospitable staff. They made sure that my friends and I were always stuffed with so much good food and that our needs were always taken cared of. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! That’s it for this special edition of EATSplorations! I can’t wait to come back with my family. ‘Till next time!
