Bao On The Block – Quezon City

Hello everyone! It has been a long time since the last time we shared an EATSperience in Quezon City. We have been guilty of just going around areas near our place like Makati and Bonifacio Global City. But since our baby’s pediatrician is based in Quezon City and we have to visit her for the monthly checkup, it gives us time to EATSperience restaurants that we rarely go to, and just simply appreciate what that side of Metro Manila has to offer. In this edition of EATSplorations, we will share with you about our latest Quezon City food find, Bao On The Block. It is located in Sgt. Esguerra just across ABS-CBN. This place serves up baos and rice bowls perfect for lunch and after work chow downs. We decided to visit Bao On The Block on a weekday lunch (during our school break) and it was pretty easy to go to. The place is small but it was decorated nicely, for diners who are simply looking for a place to dine at after a long day’s work. Continue reading…

Brown Butter Pancake Sandwiches

Finally, October is over and now it’s time to usher in November! We were loaded with work last month and as a result, we have had some backlog on the blogging side of things. Not complaining though because thank God, we have been busy since coming back home. Last month, we received a box of goodies from Brown Butter Pancake Sandwiches. If you haven’t heard about them yet, Brown Butter makes pancake sandwiches inspired by the “Dorayaki” from Japan. The concept is a fusion of East and West as they combined the Japanese pancakes with more Western fillings or palaman in Filipino. The pancake sandwiches of Brown Butter are also very handy and easy to eat. Keep reading to find out more about Brown Butter’s different pancake sandwiches in this edition of EATSplorations! Yellow Box Rice Company – Katipunan, Quezon City

Hello everyone! Work just keeps getting busier and busier by the minute and it keeps getting harder and harder to write some of our recent EATSperiences. Good thing, we had a bit of a spare time coming off a hectic weekend. A couple of weeks back, we were able to EATSperience an eatery outside of our usual go to dining hotspots. This eatery is located along Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City which is 13 kilometers away from where we stay to be exact. It was really far but we made it all the way there because we heard that the food there is really good. Our featured eatery for this EATSperience is the Yellow Box Rice Company. It is located just outside La Vista Village in Katipunan Avenue. Yellow Box Rice Company or YBRC for short is a small restaurant where diners can get a variety of bang for buck rice in a box meal. We can still remember how tasty and affordable rice in a box meals were back when we were still in college. That was like how many *secret* years ago! We had a really nostalgic feeling right when we stepped inside YBRC. Remembering the good old days when we survived long days mainly because it had heaps of rice and lots of flavor. Get your tummies ready Continue reading…

Makirrito by Tokyo Tokyo

Life has been so fast paced nowadays that it’s a luxury for us to take our time and enjoy what we are eating. Since we started working and living again in Manila, we have always been on-the-go. In a hurry to have something to eat especially with all the work that we have to do. Also, having something like a quick meal doesn’t always guarantee full and happy tummies. Sometimes taste is also sacrificed because of the quality of fast food available. Good thing, just this week we discovered something fast, flavorful, filling and affordable! The Makirrito by Tokyo Tokyo. For those who haven’t tried it yet, it is the a combination of Maki (sushi rolls) flavors and components with the portability of a Burrito thus, Makirrito! Sounds interesting so far? Continue reading…
