Hello, everyone! It’s been a long time since we last posted an EATSperience of ours and we hope you are still reading some of our past posts and that all of you are doing alright. We miss writing about our EATSperiences and food finds. Hopefully, you missed us, too! In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing about the Cinnamon and Chocolate Rolls from Baked by Feliz. Baked by Feliz is one of many home-based food sellers that started during the long quarantine period in Metro Manila. Baked by Feliz is owned and ran by Chef Feliz Tupas, who has been a line and pastry chef for 5 years now. Keep on reading to get to know Baked by Feliz and its goodies!
Cinnamon and Chocolate Rolls from Baked by Feliz!
“Baked by Feliz started late May 2020, when a friend of mine requested a dozen of Cinnamon Rolls. Since then, the reception has been great and we’ve been working nonstop,” said Feliz. The knack has always been there. Feliz started selling baked goods since High School at the age of 13. “It was during recess for extra baon. I would sell a bag of cookies for P20 and artisan Cupcakes for as low as P15.” She continued her cupcake business in College and sold them during Food Expos and CSB school events. After getting her Culinary Arts degree in De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, she took 1 year Internship in the US. Shortly after arriving home, she sold brookies (a brownie cookie hybrid), assorted cookies in jars, and apple pies outside their church and at Sunday Markets as a career start. She travelled the world for 2 years to become a professional Line Chef in the hot kitchen, busting on the grill. “Now that I’m back in town, I want to go back to my first love and start baking desserts again in the comfort of my childhood home in Makati City,” she said.
Classic Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Frosting (Php 450 for 6 and Php 850 for 12)
Unlike most cinnamon rolls out in the market, Baked by Feliz’s Classic Cinnamon Rolls with Cream Cheese Frosting is not overly sweet. It has different layers of flavor that tickled our taste buds in every bite. The cinnamon flavor was just right, too! It wasn’t too overpowering. The cherry on top is their out of this world cream cheese frosting! It’s so good you can probably eat it with anything and it will still be amazing.
Say hello to Baked by Feliz’s Cream Cheese Frosting! We did request for it to be on the side first for photography purposes. We don’t know if you can, but man, it would be great if you can order an extra serving of this and just eat it on its own, haha!
Chocolate Rolls filled with Dutch Chocolate Sugar Filling, Semi Sweet Chocolate Chunks and topped off with Chocolate Ganache (Php 450 for 6 and Php 850 for 12)
If you are not the cinnamon roll type of person, Baked by Feliz has this roll! No cinnamon at all, hehe. It’s definitely very chocolaty, surprisingly light, and just simply delicious!
Words from Feliz.
Compared to other shops, I can confidently say that our rolls are very generous when it comes to size, filling and frosting. I took time to study the elements of the “not so famous” Cinnamon Rolls and our rolls are everything you are looking for in a yummy dessert. It stays soft, chewy and gooey even after a few days and our Cream Cheese Frosting is very addicting. Most of our clients say, “It’s almost like a cheesecake.” Our rolls have no preservatives and are made with natural, high-quality and handpicked ingredients!
