There’s always a first time for everything. Just recently, I was able to EATSperience another first for EATSplorations. I was in a cruise ship for the very first time ever in my life. I was anxious at first because I really didn’t know what to expect with how cruising would actually feel like. However, I was also excited at the same time because I have heard so many great things about the life aboard a cruise ship especially the SuperStar Virgo. Fortunate for me, Star Cruises decided to continue on having Manila as one of SuperStar Virgo’s ports this year. Because of that, together with other Philippine Media and Blogger friends, I was able to EATSperience it for 2 nights. In this edition of EATSplorations, I will be sharing with you about the 5 Things I Loved About SuperStar Virgo. I also the link of the video that I made about my experience, to tour you all inside this majestic cruise ship. Enjoy!
The SuperStar Virgo!
Good thing I was at the Hotel H2O (meeting place for the shuttle to Pier 15) early and was able to take this photo of the SuperStar Virgo from afar. The mere sight of it made me feel more excited than anxious. I can’t stop thinking about all the fun stuff and endless eating that I will be doing on board. Below is a short video that I made to tour all of you aboard the SuperStar Virgo. Make sure you watch it and share it if you liked it. Thanks!
Tour of the SuperStar Virgo!
Hope you enjoyed my SuperStar Virgo tour! By now, you already have a clearer idea of how much fun it is to be inside this humongous cruise ship. Now, it’s time for me to tell you all about the 5 things I loved about SuperStar Virgo. Any guess before I proceed? In no particular order, here it goes!
Number 1: FOOD
A cruise EATSperience won’t be complete without the endless array of food. FREE food. There are THREE restaurants that are already included in what you paid for and you can try them all throughout your stay inside the SuperStar Virgo. TIP: Make sure to check out the menu offerings posted on a board near the Zodiac Theater the night before so you can plan ahead.
Together with all the Philippine Media guests, I EATSperienced a fantastic welcome dinner buffet at the Tavern over at Deck 13. The food selection was insanely amazing. The spread had lobsters, lamb chops, steak, cakes, pastries, salads, freshly-cooked noodles, and many many more. My SuperStar Virgo EATSperience was off to a great start!

The Lido is SuperStar Virgo’s International buffet restaurant. I was able to try its breakfast, lunch, and supper during my 2-night stay and I was really happy with its food selection. If you are planning to stuff yourself crazy during the whole trip, you will surely enjoy dining at The Lido. TIP: If you still have room after lunch, they also serve afternoon tea for FREE.

The Lido, Star Dining, and Pavilion are already included in the cruise. It’s really up to you on what type of food you’d like to EATSperience. My tip is to choose wisely because you can only swipe your card once at the same meal period or else it will already be charged to your account.
Number 2: THE VIEW
At first, I thought it was downer that the ship wasn’t going to dock. That we will just be going around in circles and not see anything. Well, I was proven wrong by SuperStar Virgo because I ended up enjoying the view of the deep blue sea and the different shades of the clear blue skies. I really really loved it. The sunrise and sunset were also so amazing! The layers of colors were just too beautiful to miss. Make sure to catch it!
Number 3: THE ACTIVITIES
With my very short attention span, I easily get bored and I am always on the lookout for something fun to do. Good thing the SuperStar Virgo is packed with lots of fun and exciting activities to do. I was able to run in the gym, go up and down the slide, and swim at the Parthenon Pool. I really had so much fun! If you want to do more things, the SuperStar Virgo also has a small basketball court, a mini golf and a driving range, a jogging path, four hot tubs, a daycare center, gaming center, and many many more. TIP: Don’t forget to bring some exercise gear during the trip. Remember, you will be eating endlessly for an X amount of days. Don’t forget to make space.

Number 4: THE SHOWS
Aside from the food, the shows at the Zodiac Theatre are also FREE of charge. Guests can enjoy the nightly shows by SuperStar Virgo’s ultra-talented performers. I was able to see two shows because of the two nights and I was left in awe because of how amazing the acts were. Make sure to check the schedule on board or ask the staff in advance about the shows as some may not be as child-friendly as you think. They also offer special late-night shows only for audience 18 years of age and above.

I wasn’t able to take photos of the Mystical Land acrobat show because my lens didn’t function well while watching. I think it was a blessing in disguise because I was able to enjoy the show more. Among the two shows, I guess the Mystical Land is more child-friendly than the Spirits Magic Show. It’s still up to you though. Whatever happens, just enjoy the show!
Number 5: THE STAFF
I was really impressed with how competent and efficient the staff were at the SuperStar Virgo. It was also fun talking to fellow Pinoys who were there, serving all the guests while trying to make a living for themselves and their families back home. Aside from the fellow Pinoys, the other staff of different nationalities were equally competent and accommodating as well.

In my opinion, it’s the people behind SuperStar Virgo that makes it a cruise worth remembering. In general, the staff were really hospitable that they made me feel comfortable the entire trip. That’s why I enjoyed my short stay aboard SuperStar Virgo.
5 things I loved about SuperStar Virgo—Delicious food, fun activities, lovely views, entertaining shows, and hospitable staff. It was a short experience but a memorable one. And since I had a great time, I hope to bring my wife and daughter on a cruise next time so that we, as a family, will get to experience the beauty of it. That’s it for my SuperStar Virgo EATSperience! ‘Till next time!
