The SM Mall of Asia Complex right at the Manila Bay area of Pasay City never runs out of good food choices. It is home to hundreds or even maybe thousands of restaurants that serve Filipino, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Mexican, American, Italian, and so on. This edition of EATSplorations is about one of them! It was a rainy Saturday morning when we made our way to one of the hotels in the Mall of Asia complex. We were really hungry, thanks to the traffic jam near our area caused by a number of flooded streets. Good thing, after almost an hour and a half, we finally arrived at TRYP by Wyndham! There we were able to try out some awesome Bay Area Eats at Milagritos – TRYP by Wyndham‘s in-house restaurant. We didn’t really know what to expect when we arrived, but when the food started coming to our table, our gloomy Saturday started to look good. Bay Area Eats at Milagritos – TRYP by Wyndham
Milagritos is located at the 3rd floor of TRYP by Wyndham hotel in the Mall of Asia Complex. It is a Filipino and International all-day dining restaurant for local and international tourists alike.
Milagritos boasts of amazing views of the Manila Bay through a number of glass panels and balconies. The place is lovely and filled with lots of light and color, perfect after a long day of shopping and going around Manila’s biggest mall complex.
This geometric mural was such a delight to see! We were told that they commissioned a local artist to make these kinds of artworks all over Milagritos and around TRYP by Wyndham itself.
After a quick look around Milagritos, it’s time for us to show you the dishes that we EATSperienced! Are you ready? Here they come!
Bicol Express Skewers
Started things off with this unique take on Bicol Express! We’ve never had this kind of Bicol Express before and we believe it was a really creative and innovative take on this Filipino classic. Did it work? 100% YES! The meatballs were really juicy and flavorful, thanks to the creamy and spicy coconut milk sauce!
Classic American Burger with Fries
One of their most recommended items was this Classic American Burger! We were really hesitant to order it at first because we wanted to try out their Filipino dishes. However, when we took our first bite, we immediately realized why the server suggested it to us! Milagritos’ burger was AMAZING! It was cooked properly, seasoned nicely, and all in all, a great cheeseburger! We honestly believe this is one of the best burgers in town. It tasted like it came from a classic American burger joint. Awesome stuff, Milagritos!
Baked Mac ‘N Cheese
Of course, we got something for our not-so-little Beanie! We got Milagritos’ Baked Mac ‘N Cheese. The flavor was very kid-friendly and not overpoweringly cheesy. If not for the early arrival of our churros, she easily would have finished it! It was that good.
Churros con Chocolate
Yup, she had dessert first! Good thing, it was really good and Beanie loved it! At 3 years old, this little girl can already be considered churros connoisseur because of her incessant love for this classic Spanish/Mexican treat. If she finishes it, then it must be really good, and she did finish Milagritos’ Churros on her own!
Linguine al Frutti di Mare
An EATSperience at a restaurant by the bay won’t be complete without having something with seafood, right? That’s why we ordered Milagritos’ Linguine al Frutti di Mare! This pasta dish tasted as good as it looks. The freshness and the sweetness of the sea from all the seafood were amazing! It was rich and really flavorful. A perfectly cooked pasta dish!
Beef Belly Kare-Kare
Another must-try dish at Milagritos is their signature Beef Belly Kare-Kare made with Angus Beef Belly and homemade peanut sauce. This one made us eat lots of rice! The sauce was phenomenal and the beef belly was extremely tender. Make sure to try this one out when you dine at Milagritos!
Buko Pandan Gelato
After all the savory dishes, we were due for something sweet and there’s nothing more satisfying than a bowl of gelato! Milagritos makes its own gelato and they made sure it also has something Filipino in it. That’s why they have a Buko Pandan Gelato! It was pretty delicious, smooth, and creamy! It definitely tasted like Buko Pandan. Yum, yum, yum!
Chocnut Gelato
This one’s a winner! One of the best gelato ever. Milagritos did a great job on this Filipino-inspired gelato. The chocnut flavor was really there. It had the texture of gelato and just the right sweetness, too. Make sure to order this to finish things off on a sweet note at Milagritos!
To cap it all off, we were really surprised at how awesome the food at Milagritos was! Out of the thousands of restaurants in the Mall of Asia Complex, one might easily overlook dining at a restaurant inside TRYP by Wyndham. However, as one who’ve already EATSperience dining at Milagritos, we can honestly say that we had a great time devouring their tasty sweet and savory dishes!
