Right after EATSperiencing the new dishes of Flossom Kitchen Cafe, believe it or not, I proceeded to go on another EATSperience. Yes, I still sort of had some more space left in my already very spacious tummy, if you know what that means, hehe. In this edition of EATSplorations, I will be sharing about another San Juan City EATS with Tra Vinh Express at Courtyard 453. The name Tra Vinh might already be familiar to a lot of you, as some of you might have already eaten there before, or some of you might have already read about it here in our blog. Just in case you have no idea what Tra Vinh is all about, it’s one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in town. It’s home to huge and hearty bowls of Pho and a wide variety of Vietnamese classics. Following its popularity in Quezon City, the owners of Tra Vinh decided to expand and open its newest branch at Courtyard 453 in San Juan City. Keep on reading and find out why you should visit and what dishes you should try at Tra Vinh Express, enjoy!

This is what it looks like inside Courtyard 453! Tra Vinh Express is just 1 out of 5 (if I am not mistaken) food stalls inside this small but spacious food hall. The whole place is air-conditioned with a small function room upstairs.

Crispy Soft Shell Crabs (Php 799)

It may seem expensive for a food hall dish but Tra Vinh Express’ Crispy Soft Shell Crabs as organic, really crispy and plump! It’s unlike any other fried soft shell crab dish I have ever had. This one’s pretty tasty to be a food hall dish! Definitely a restaurant quality dish and the people of San Juan are blessed to have it.

Shrimp Banh Mi

This one’s as good as it gets! I love how colorful and fresh this Shrimp Banh Mi was. I almost forgot that I already had so much food for lunch because of how amazing this sandwich was. I enjoyed the generous amount of shrimps and veggies! The bread and paté were pretty tasty, too! I forgot how much this was but it definitely is worth whatever it’s priced!

Combination Beef Noodle Soup (Php 250)

Big in size and in flavor! The soup was still as good as I remember it the first time I tried Tra Vinh. The serving is still pretty much good for two or even three. All the cuts of beef were tender and tasted really clean. I just used a little bit of the condiments because I didn’t really want to play with its already awesome flavor. This is still one of the best Vietnamese noodle soups in town!

Vietnamese Steamed Fish (Php 899 for regular, Php 1,099 for large, and Php 1,299 for extra large)

This one’s got freshness written all over it! I think I had at least half of this large steamed fish even though I was already extremely full. The flesh of the fish was just naturally sweet and was perfectly complemented by the aromatic blend of soy sauce and spices. If you are dining with a big group, make sure to try out this dish!

I was really really full after trying out a few dishes from Tra Vinh Express’ extensive lineup of Vietnamese dishes! I missed their noodle soup so much. It was great to finally try out their Banh Mi, Soft Shell Crab, and Steamed Fish. People who live and work around Courtyard 453 are really blessed to have a food stall like Tra Vinh Express nearby. If I still worked in this area, I would probably eat at Tra Vinh at least once a week and try out everything in their menu. If I had to pick a couple of favorites out of the four dishes that I tried, I guess I’ll have to go with the Banh Mi and the Combination Beef Noodle Soup because of the taste and its authenticity. The other two dishes were really good, too! So, if I were you, I’d try them all and just decide which ones to come back for, right? That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations, ’till next time!
