Alta by Relik – Santolan Town Plaza

Lunch dates are rare for us, as we usually take lunch with our respective classes (as some of you may not know, yes, we were both teachers). So whenever we have to opportunity to go out for lunch, we make sure that we really get to enjoy the time together and of course, the food! A few weeks back, after dealing with our year end clearances at work, we went to a restaurant near our work place. Since we knew that we were having a lunch date, we didn’t eat much for breakfast to prepare our tummies (haha!) Some of you may be familiar with Relik located at BGC, and the restaurant where we went to is managed by the same group. Join us in this edition of EATSplorations, as we share about our Alta by Relik-Santolan Town Plaza EATSperience. Enjoy!

Alta by Relik – Santolan Town Plaza!

Developed by Rockwell Land, the facade of Santolan Town Plaza is really appealing. Some shops and restaurants are still closed, but this plaza seems promising, especially for the residents in that area. With the number of restaurants that are open and are soon to open, diners will definitely have a lot of options. One of which is Alta by Relik. Located at Pavilion 7 and 8 of Santolan Town Plaza, Alta by Relik is a spacious restaurant, with glass windows that welcomes the natural light. Casual dining suited for families, office lunch outs, or after work dining. Oh, and we learned that they plan to promote this place as an events area as well.

Quick look around Alta by Relik!

Time to EATSperience Alta’s comfort food!

Now, let’s get it on with the food! Alta by Relik has quite a versatile menu, perfect to cater to different cravings. They have Western, Asian and of course, Filipino favorites. We had Salmon Belly Sisig with Tortilla Chips, Chili Garlic Shrimp Pasta, Oven-baked Barbecue Chicken, Crispy Bagnet Kare-Kare, and Milo Dinosaur Cheesecake. Talk about 2 hungry tummies filled with all these!

Salmon Belly Sisig with Tortilla Crisps
Php 275

Definitely a favorite of ours! The spicy sisig sauce was nothing but pure awesomeness! Fragrant and flavorful sauce with melt-in-your-mouth salmon belly cubes. The crispy and thin tortilla chips were great as well. A perfect pair to start our meal. Believe us, the moment we had our first bite of this dish, it had us wanting for more!

Chili Garlic Shrimp Pasta
Php 358

Easily a good for 2 people pasta dish. The spice from the oil-based chili garlic sauce was just right for us, which we really liked. Enough to give us the kick that we were looking for.

Oven-Baked Barbecue Chicken
Php 475

Oven-baked chicken leg quarter coated with a sweet style barbecue sauce. Served with plain rice and vegetables. The chicken was truly impeccable! A recommended dish for those looking for a filling rice meal.

Crispy Bagnet Kare-Kare
Php 475

And the star of this lunch spread! Sweet, creamy and strong peanut flavor from the sauce topped with the perfectly cooked Bagnet. We were impressed that this Crispy Bagnet Kare-Kare is already served with Bagoong rice, no need to order extra, unless 1 cup is not enough. We didn’t use the bagoong that much because the kare-kare was already good on its own, plus the bagoong rice was there to complement everything. And as we were about to finish this dish, there was one piece of bagnet left, which Mrs. Eats gladly let Mr. Eats have, because dessert was on its way (haha!). This dish is a must-try!

Milo Dinosaur Cheesecake
Php 189

Ever since we started dating, dessert has always been a part of our meal. (Mr. Eats has Mrs. Eats to blame for that!) And to cap off our lunch, we had Alta by Relik’s Milo Dinosaur Cheesecake. Smooth and rich cheesecake with just the right amount of sweetness from the Milo. This had us staring at each other, as if we were racing as to who gets to eat more! Definitely a dessert worth coming back for!

That was one filling lunch date! Good food, quality time and a relaxing ambiance. We definitely enjoyed spending our after work lunch time here. We also liked that most of the dishes at Alta by Relik are good for sharing. For the price range, we find that it something that will not hurt one’s budget. So if you live or work in San Juan, or you just simply want to try something new, check out Alta by Relik at Santolan Town Plaza. That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations, ’till next time!
