Last month, in one of our many reunions with friends, we were able to try out one of SM Aura’s not-so-hidden gem, Providore. It was such a delightful surprise to us on how good the food was and that we haven’t had the chance to try it before. We were really happy with what we had. Our friends were pretty impressed, too. That’s why we decided to return, just our tiny family this time, to have another crack at the dishes that we loved and to feature it here in our blog. Because you guys deserve to know more about Providore. We don’t know if you have tried Providore before but if you haven’t you are definitely missing out. In this edition of EATSplorations, we will be sharing about the dishes that made us come back and why we think Providore is the Home of the Best Fried Chicken and Barbecue in SM Aura. Enjoy!
Welcome to Providore in SM Aura – BGC!
Providore, as its name suggests, really aims to provide its guests with almost everything. The place is like a one-stop shop for anything food and drink. They have a coffee bar, a bistro, freshly-baked bread and pastries, and they also sell all sorts of kitchen provisions. You name it, Providore (most likely) has it!
Busy Saturday at Providore. The place was packed with couples, friends, and families. The place was well-lit, thanks to Mr. Sun’s natural light. If you are lucky enough to get a table facing their backyard, you will surely have all the natural light for your photos during daytime. SM Aura is home to a great number of really good restaurants and Providore being full, says a lot about how good the overall dining EATSperience is which made our return even more exciting.

Healthier alternative to your usual fries! Since our whole family loves fries so much, we are on the lookout from something as tasty but healthy. That’s why when we saw this on the menu, we went for it right away. Good thing it was really good! Great crispy crust, really sharp and salty notes from the Malagos pecorino, and the buttermilk ranch dip was perfectly tangy and garlicky (even our baby loved it, too!).

Providore serves up the BEST Fried Chicken among all the restaurants in SM Aura! Yes, we said it. We fell in love with this fried chicken right from our very first bite. The name really fits what they serve up. The whole plate is really a winner. The fried chicken resembles the flavor and texture of a lechon kawali. The bacon and cheddar biscuit is better than all of the biscuits that we have ever had. Even the mashed potatoes, sausage gravy, and the buttered corn and french beans were all amazing. Please try it if you haven’t because we don’t want you to miss out. You are all welcome.

Filipino-style barbecue at its finest! Yes, in our honest opinion, Providore also serves the BEST Barbecue in SM Aura. Why do we think so? Well, because it really tastes like that sweet ketchup-y barbecue sauce that we all grew up loving except that Providore’s is way better. The serving size of this bbq plate is easily good for two hungry individuals if they are willing to share. The java rice and atchara are also pretty good! We can confidently say that Providore’s bbq plate can easily challenge the best bbq’s in town.
We really love both their fried chicken and bbq plates, and that alone was enough reason for us to visit again, and not just visit but to have the same dishes again. Remember, in our own honest foodie opinion, they serve the BEST of those two dishes in SM Aura. Only this time around, we got to have a taste of their zucchini fries and experience the place’s beauty with the help of Mr. Sun’s natural light. It was not just Mr. and Mrs. Eats approved, but definitely Baby Eats approved as well! Now, we have another reason to come back, and that is to try out more of their other offerings.
