As you all know, living in the Philippines can get scorching hot at times. It’s a place that can make anyone feel as if they live just a few kilometers away from the sun. Because of this, Filipinos and people who live in the Philippines love all sorts cold desserts like the famous Filipino favorite, Halo-Halo. Aside from that colorful dessert creation, Filipinos also love ICE CREAM. Lots and lots of it. Different colors and different flavors. The more, the merrier. Recently, we were able to try out one of the newest ice cream parlors in town, Freezer Burn, in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Freezer Burn is the brainchild of young Filipino chefs, Miko Aspiras and Kristine Lotilla. The same duo that brought us the cookie haven, Scout’s Honor at Hole in the Wall. Knowing how big Scout’s Honor has gotten, Freezer Burn looks like a promising place to literally chill out and enjoy a few scoops of their unique ice cream flavors and composed desserts. Are you ready to know more about Freezer Burn? Here it goes, enjoy!
Freezer Burn is filled with lots of color, that perfectly matches its selection of carefully crafted composed desserts. Looks like the powerful dessert duo is really trying to make the Philippines a sweeter place to live in.
After a couple of minutes of going through the menu, together with our friends, we decided to get three composed desserts for sharing. Also, to EATSperience as much as we can from Freezer Burn’s stash of unique ice cream based creations.
Mr. Eats: Breakfast in dessert! Lovely blend of sweet and savory. Awesome job on incorporating sweet and savory ingredients in making a composed dessert that cater to both breakfast and dessert lovers.
Mrs. Eats: It was love at first bite! Maple and bacon? Always a perfect combo! I loved the balance of flavors in this ice cream and the Brioche toast and Popcorn were delish components that made this dessert more interesting.
Mr. Eats: This reminded me why I love mint and chocolate. It’s perfection! A perfect symphony of mint and chocolate. Both of the main components worked really well in complementing each other’s flavors. Yum yum yum! To the mint haters out there, this will surely change your mind. Try it to believe it!
Mrs. Eats: I like mint and I love chocolate. However, mint and chocolate combo? Not a big fan of it, but I would always try. I must say that the mint flavor was strong yet it was creamy enough to complement the chocolate. If you are like my hubby who loves mint and chocolate combo, try this!
Mr. Eats: In my honest foodie opinion, this was the best among the three. That’s a hard decision to make but this one has everything going to the right direction. Junk food ice cream with NUTELLA DONUTS and caramel sauce. If none of those words excite you, there’s something wrong! Hands down favorite! 😀
Mrs. Eats: The creaminess, the crunch and the sweetness—All in one spoonful! This is definitely worth the calorie intake! I would love to have this again, just for myself. 😀
We had a great time at Freezer Burn! It was refreshing to find a local ice cream parlor whose creativity and taste can surely compete with already well-established ice cream brands. With high-level quality and detailed approach to each and every composed dessert that they serve, Freezer Burn will surely be one of the most sought after dessert places in town. That’s it for this edition of EATSplorations! Till next time!
